Description: Located in the century-old Knox Mill, our bistro is situated on top of the Megunticook River, just between the two waterfalls. At Brevetto, our modern Italian bistro cuisine is designed to pair perfectly with our extensive– and almost exclusively Italian– wine list. Brevetto is Italian for “patent,” and throughout the restaurant you will find turn-of-the-century schematics of wine presses and odd, out-dated food machines. In stark contrast to the complicated workings of a “salami washing machine,” our menu is simple and straightforward. We feature a large menu with a range of grilled pizzas, Italian pastas, and a variety of entrées. In addition to our extensive wine list, we also have a full bar with artisan draft beers and liquors. Enjoy your dinner in our inviting dining room, or on our waterfront deck. Relax with an obscure Italian red wine at our bar, or an extra-dry gin martini on the leather sofa. Brevetto has some of the best of both worlds, right in downtown Camden.

Maybe if we'd had a crafted cocktail or a special beer we would have felt differently.... We had wine, which was fine and the artichoke appetizer was very very good as was the bread and butter-like mixture that came with it. The flatbread was tasty but ordinary and the carbonara was ok. The service was just ok as well. The... More

We celebrated a special occasion at this wonderful place, and it was definitely a worthy choice. From the creative cocktails to the well-prepared inventive Italian-influenced entrees, to the attentive and capable service, we were all very happy. The food was fresh and much of it was locally sourced and made in-house. This is a place better suited for adults than... More

Anyone who doesn't rank them in the top 10 is nutty. Camden is full of lobster, crabs and clams; but none of the waterfront spots are as creative. Each course was thoughtful and well prepared. Sad folks will eat ten lobster rolls and not even be aware of a real jewel on a back street. Admittedly not for the weekend masses.... More

This restaurant has a nice romantic ambiance. The staff was friendly and courteous. The drinks were good along with the appetizers we had. Although we didn't have dinner, the plates coming out of the kitchen looked good! The calamari we had was extremely fresh.

My husband and I had dinner here on a Thursday night. The place was fairly empty and wasn't loud like some of the reviewers have stated. We found the service to be prompt but noticed the tables around us were sitting for some time with empty dishes, etc. I ordered the whole grilled trout which was very good and I... More

We have been to 40 Paper four times this year and at each visit, the quality of service has declined dramatically. Once the weather warmed, we could not wait to sit outside on the patio but each time after waiting for 15 minutes, we have had to go find a waiter in order to order drinks and food, this after... Four of us visited this restaurant on the strong recommendation of our innkeeper on a recent visit to Camden. The restaurant is located in what was formerly the old MBNA complex in Camden and which has since been converted to a mix of condos, offices and retail uses. It is a few blocks off of US 1 and an easy... More

We were very pleased w/ their bar & overall service at our table, but the food was about a 3-1/2 out of 5 in our book. The calamari appetizer wasn't as tender as we'd like, & it had a bland sauce. The quail entree was underseasoned, but good otherwise. The dessert was some kind of chocolate mousse (which was good),... More

We dined here nearly 3 years ago on our first visit to Rockport and Camden. We liked the decor, the service and general atmosphere. On our last day in Camden this year we dined there again and memories came flooding back of our previous excellent meal and wondering why we hadn't hadn't revisited earlier. My main complaint is my very... More
