Located in the century-old Knox Mill, our bistro is situated on top of the Megunticook River, just between the two waterfalls. At Brevetto, our modern Italian bistro cuisine is designed to pair perfectly with our extensive– and almost exclusively Italian– wine list. Brevetto is Italian for “patent,” and throughout the restaurant you will find turn-of-the-century schematics of wine presses and odd, out-dated food machines. In stark contrast to the complicated workings of a “salami washing machine,” our menu is simple and straightforward. We feature a large menu with a range of grilled pizzas, Italian pastas, and a variety of entrées. In addition to our extensive wine list, we also have a full bar with artisan draft beers and liquors. Enjoy your dinner in our inviting dining room, or on our waterfront deck. Relax with an obscure Italian red wine at our bar, or an extra-dry gin martini on the leather sofa. Brevetto has some of the best of both worlds, right in downtown Camden.

a great place to drink, meet people, and eat

The bartender, Wynn (sp?), is a great guy, knows his drinks, and can talk about anything. The place is hopping with people to meet. Many exotic and delicious drinks. We ate the bar food, not dinner, but each of 5 dishes was excellent. Probably the best risotto that we've ever had!

Made a stop on our way through and had a great time and meal. An atmosphere I would call a mix fine dining and local pub, was a great spot, good meal, decent beer selection, shared a flight.

The food was really excellent, the drink list was fun and interesting, and the ambiance was cool/trendy while still remaining inviting. If you've never had an 8-hour braised short-rib with candied brussels over polenta, you should get there as fast as you can before it's all gone! While you're there, get a flight of local craft beer and a rosemary... More

This place is crowded for good reason - great half-price drinks and $5 appetizer selection between 4-6 P.M. Went with friends one night last week and liked it so much we returned a few days later. The bartender is amazing, the place was hopping both nights and he kept everyone supplied and in good spirits. Delicious flatbread (we sampled the... More

Dined with a party of 8 and the waitstaff pulled it off flawlessly. Friendly and efficient. Great place to go for a dining experience - regardless of the party size. Food and wine menu options are all interesting and unique - ,making the selection difficult. I tried the osso bocce lasagna and it was memorable. I wasn't hungry for 24... More

My B&B recommended this restaurant. There is not much open this time of year in Camden, ME but 40 Paper is, which is a great thing. I had a salad and one of their focaccia for dinner and sat at the bar. The service was great, the food very good and overall a great atmosphere, glad I went there for... More

40 Paper continually updates their pizza offerings with unexpected combinations of vegetables and cheeses. The handmade ravioli was excellent. They have modified the space a bit so that conversations are easier.

Went there based on local recommendation and were greatly disappointed. Food was average at best, but the service was the worst we have experienced in many years. "Indifferent" doesn't begin to describe it

I'll start off by saying that I'm Italian. I've grown up my whole life eating homemade lasagna, spaghetti, and the like. So in order for me to rave about an Italian restaurant, it has to be good. I was delighted to see that 40 Paper had lasagna on their menu, so I opted for that (as well as the stuffed... More

We were getting together with a couple/friends that we had not spent time with in awhile. One recommended 40 Paper since she had been there for Happy Hour with MAM members earlier in the week. PROS....I had the mussels in a garlic, herb, white wine sauce as an appetizer which was delicious. As mains, we had the black trumpet mushroom... More
