Description: Located in the century-old Knox Mill, our bistro is situated on top of the Megunticook River, just between the two waterfalls. At Brevetto, our modern Italian bistro cuisine is designed to pair perfectly with our extensive– and almost exclusively Italian– wine list. Brevetto is Italian for “patent,” and throughout the restaurant you will find turn-of-the-century schematics of wine presses and odd, out-dated food machines. In stark contrast to the complicated workings of a “salami washing machine,” our menu is simple and straightforward. We feature a large menu with a range of grilled pizzas, Italian pastas, and a variety of entrées. In addition to our extensive wine list, we also have a full bar with artisan draft beers and liquors. Enjoy your dinner in our inviting dining room, or on our waterfront deck. Relax with an obscure Italian red wine at our bar, or an extra-dry gin martini on the leather sofa. Brevetto has some of the best of both worlds, right in downtown Camden.

Appears to be the place to go in Camden for pre dinner drinks and appetizers. Very busy with a mostly younger crowd, my wife goes periodically to meet with friends and have a light dinner. There is more formal dining in the back room and the food is excellent with great service to match.

We had dinner at 40 Paper Monday, November 24 as part of a pre-holiday getaway. Located in a refurbished mill the restaurant's bar was jamming with folks taking advantage of happy hour specials. There wasn't room for us at the bar and we opted for dinner. Very original cocktails with ingredients we'd not yet tried, very fun. Hanger steak was... More

My Mum and I came here for a special "date night" while in Camden for a long weekend. We opted to enjoy the delicious bread and skip an appetizer, but everything on the menu looked so great it was so hard to choose! My Mum had the spaghetti and lamb meatballs, and the red sauce was SO, so good. The... More

This restaurant is one of the reasons I read reviews, but mentally edit what they have to say. If I believed every negative thing someone posted on a travel site I would not have enjoyed one of the best meals I've had since moving back to Maine over this past weekend... All day Saturday my boyfriend and I were trying... More

The interesting menu grabbed our attention. Roasted beetroot pizza!! New one for me. Both went for this as a starter and were not disappointed. It was marvelous. My main was pasta and meatballs. A simple dish that can be superb if done well. This was verging on superb. My other half is vegetarian so her choice was limited. She went... More

Went for Italian but found none of that but great food still. The menu has complex selections with good verity. The appetizers are meager in size bit outstanding. The lamb chops were the best I ever had. Bit don't expect much of the side portions. We would go back here again .

This place is a real find. It has a nice, uncrowded bistro-type atmosphere, friendly expert staff, extensive selections of wine, spirits and beer at the bar, and best of all, incredible food. Every dish was a revelation. It's not pretentious or foo-foo in any way. After being recommended to 40 Paper by our innkeeper, it was so great that we... More

We rode by on our bikes and loved the appearance. Went back for happy hour in the front patio. Great happy hour specials. Our wives enjoyed half price house cocktails. Great draft beer selection. We enjoyed the $5 happy hour apps. Highly recommend the kale and been dish and salami flat bread. While the location is way from waterfront, the... More

Even though we're senior citizens, we sometimes like to hang with a younger crowd. 40 Paper is a favorite: brilliant bartenders, excellent chefs and a wonderful atmosphere. The cuisine is modern Italian, nice and light. The bar scene is vibrant but not overwhelming. Josh has created something very special here.
