Description: Located in the century-old Knox Mill, our bistro is situated on top of the Megunticook River, just between the two waterfalls. At Brevetto, our modern Italian bistro cuisine is designed to pair perfectly with our extensive– and almost exclusively Italian– wine list. Brevetto is Italian for “patent,” and throughout the restaurant you will find turn-of-the-century schematics of wine presses and odd, out-dated food machines. In stark contrast to the complicated workings of a “salami washing machine,” our menu is simple and straightforward. We feature a large menu with a range of grilled pizzas, Italian pastas, and a variety of entrées. In addition to our extensive wine list, we also have a full bar with artisan draft beers and liquors. Enjoy your dinner in our inviting dining room, or on our waterfront deck. Relax with an obscure Italian red wine at our bar, or an extra-dry gin martini on the leather sofa. Brevetto has some of the best of both worlds, right in downtown Camden.

Four of us visited this restaurant on the strong recommendation of our innkeeper on a recent visit to Camden. The restaurant is located in what was formerly the old MBNA complex in Camden and which has since been converted to a mix of condos, offices and retail uses. It is a few blocks off of US 1 and an easy... More

We were very pleased w/ their bar & overall service at our table, but the food was about a 3-1/2 out of 5 in our book. The calamari appetizer wasn't as tender as we'd like, & it had a bland sauce. The quail entree was underseasoned, but good otherwise. The dessert was some kind of chocolate mousse (which was good),... More

We dined here nearly 3 years ago on our first visit to Rockport and Camden. We liked the decor, the service and general atmosphere. On our last day in Camden this year we dined there again and memories came flooding back of our previous excellent meal and wondering why we hadn't hadn't revisited earlier. My main complaint is my very... More

Food was good, bartender was fantastic! Service was good. Parts of the dining area are a little sparse and lacking in charm, but the bar was very cool.

40 Paper was suggested to us by the desk clerk at our hotel and we were not disappointed. The restaurant bills itself as an Italian bistro but nothing about it is traditional Italian. If that is what you are looking for you might be disappointed as the menu was very inventive and offered a unique twist on Italian based food.... More

Sadly I've never had dinner at 40 since I work during dinner hours, but I often make it in to grab drinks after a shift. The bartenders are super cool and welcoming (Thanks Josh and Griffin!) and they really known their stuff. I always try something new when I go in because thw cocktail menu is so extensive. Great spot.... More

Although we were told that this is an Italian restaurant, I would not agree. More of boutique restaurant with Italian flare. Nice atmosphere, but layout makes it seem noisy. Not a place to go if you want a quiet, romantic meal. More hip than helpful. Service was inconsistent.

We had a delicious meal and excellent cocktails at 40 Paper during a short visit to Camden. The food was very creative, made from excellent, fresh ingredients, and so flavorful. You must try the minestrone, Definitely the best minestrone we've ever had. And here's what's really incredible -- the waiter told us each bowl is made to order AND that... More

I never write reviews, however, I felt compelled to write about our experience at this restaurant. This was our first trip to Maine. We were looking for an Italian restaurant. After reading some of the reviews this sounded like a good restaurant. When we first entered the restaurant around 6:00 pm, we noticed a lot of people there with drinks... More
