The tone is set with the lovely holiday decorations and beautifully lit trees outside the window. We started with the savory onion soup, then enjoyed the chicken roulade and steak--both so tender and flavorful. We finished splitting a piece of cheesecake. Everything was so well prepared and presented. Service was attentive and friendly. We're scheming a return visit.

Great meal. Lamb was perfectly cooked. Onion soup was perfect starter for a cold night, nice surprise to have some beef shortrib in the soup.

My husband and I spent a Getaway weekend here for Christmas, the food was EXCELLENT!! The staff where very attentive and friendly, we are very early risers (3:30AM) I was dying for coffee so we sat in the dining room a bit earlier than the 8:00AM breakfast and was brought coffee right away. We had dinner at the Hartstone Inn on Christmas day. The word that jumps to mind when describing the experience is 'functional'. The food was good, not outstanding but nothing wrong with it. The staff were polite but were lacking warmth except for one of the senior staff members who did spend time talking with us. I have great admiration... More

We had Christmas Dinner at the Hartstone Inn after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor. We had a set menu so didn't experience any choice. Agree with everyone else about good quality food, nice presentation and sensible portion sizes. Staff very friendly and helpful.

After a long day of traveling this meal really hit the spot. The Inn itself is very comfortable with several small side rooms to lounge in until your table is available. We arrived early so we passed the time drinking wine in the front parlor playing cards with a deck provided by the Inn. Once seated we were immediately greeted... More

Best place for consistently good meals; high quality food and drinks well-prepared & satisfying; healthy-not huge or skimpy-portions; nothing too exotic; intimate atmosphere; veg/vegan etc. avail. upon request; always come away content after an enjoyable evening. Perfect for special celebration, or Sunday dinner out. Rear parking lot is tight.

The Hartstone was recommended by the Inn Keeper at the Bed and Breakfast we were staying at. The food was terrific and the service was just as wonderful. We highly recommend them.
