If you want world class food without the stuffy feel of fancy restaurants, this is your place! Elegant, yet relaxed atmosphere combined with excellent food and wonderful service left us not wanting the meal to end!

We enjoyed Date Night at The Hartstone Inn and the food was absolutely wonderful. The service was good, but not great. A few awkward moments at the beginning as we hoped to have a cocktail before dinner but there was no place to sit. Hostess made our drinks but didn't invite us to sit down in the bar room (which... Of all of the things we looked forward to for our weekend away in Camden it was Chef Michael's cuisine. The 5 course chef's tasting menu was as delicious as during our last visit. Chef Michael brings his well traveled experience to the plate and puts a tasty twist to traditional favorites. The piece that is obvious is that the... More

It was a cold clear weekend and we decided to pick a well reviewed place in Camden. Chose the Hartstone Inn. Like most of Camden the Hartstone was decorated for the holidays. Only one other couple were there when we arrived at 6:30 but the room filled as the evening went on. The service and ambiance were were great. The... More

We had been to the Hartstone Inn before and decided it would be the ideal place to celebrate our anniversary. We were so right. Everything about the setting and meal was perfection. I loved having cocktails in the parlor while our table was readied. Our servers (I think there were three) were efficient without being intrusive. Each course was equally... More

We found our stay on November 14th - 16th at the Hartstone inn in Camden Maine delightful. The food was fabulous, the room was excellent, and the staff were warm and caring. This was a birthday gift, one that I will never forget. We also signed up for the Chef of the Day and found Michael Salmon personable, knowledgeable, and... More

This restaurant was another gem we stumbled on in town and glad we did. Superb meal and it is housed in an Inn with a friendly staff. Wish we had stayed here instead.

A visit to Camden, Maine must include dinner at the Hartstone Inn because this means a new culinary adventure with Michael Salmon. Michael consistently challenges himself in the kitchen to replicate European flavours from their recent travels and Foodie Adventures in Tuscany, Loire, and Spain with Maine's freshest fare. He always adds new additions on his menu to make course... More

Recently had dinner there with two other couples, both of whom are world class foodies. The lack of conversation was a testimonial to Michael's presentation, creativity and an uncanny ability to blend favors to perfection. The ambiance was serene and the service an appropriate compliment to the food. My next reservation is this weekend. I can not wait!!!

The Hartstone Inn's culinary ensemble is certain to tantalize your palate. A warm welcome is their Segway to a memorable meal. Whether it's a breakfast plate of Banana Custard French Toast or a dinner plate of Haddock Oscar with Maine crabmeat, Chef Michael's entourage has mastered marrying fine-dining preparation with the comfort of in keeping charm. A refreshing lemon basil... More
