We've stayed and eaten at the Hartstone Inn twice now - once in February of 2013 and recently in April of 2014 and have really enjoyed it - the food, the people, the setting all make it a memorable experience. For dinner we've had the five course chef's tasting menu both times and it's inventive, wonderful presentation and excellent food.... More

It was great to keep running into you during my various visits down to the Mingei recently and I loved having our impromptu lunch. I will be down on April 24th one last time to see the show and to attend the associated lecture and event that night. Perhaps you will be able to attend? I am excited and relieved... More

This is a very special place owned and run by a very special couple. The food is wonderful, the service elegant....the perfect place for a celebratory evening....or a non-celebratory evening for that matter. My husband and I recommend it without reservation!

My husband and I celebrated our 10th Anniversary with an elegant, romantic and utterly delicious dinner at the Hartstone Inn. We decided to try the Chef's tasting menu and were blown away! The food was divine! The presentation was outstanding! It was so much more than food; it was an experience!

What a meal! My husband and I enjoyed the Chef's tasting menu and every bite was so delicious. The creative menu included a marvelous risotto that we rate as one of the top 10 things we've ever eaten. The duck confit was melt-in-your-mouth good and attention to detail included a chilled spoon with your intermezzo sorbet. Don't miss this gem!

This was our first visit to the Hartstone Inn but it won't be our last. We stayed at the inn so we had the pleasure of having breakfast every morning and dinner on our second night there. From beginning to end the food and the service were outstanding. We got each course in a timely manner and never felt rushed.... More

We returned to the Hartstone Inn this week on a midweek special. Our dinner on the first night was as good as the several on previous visits; excellent. A smoked tomato risotto with shrimp was unusual and excellent as were the other course, topped off with a wonderful desert souffle, one of Chef Michael's signature dishes. You can count on... More

Went here for a relaxing winter meal. We had a reservation well In advance. Great atmosphere, quaint, dimly lit rooms. We were greeted right away and ushered to our table which was quite nice. From there, we both felt rushed and were wondering if we were at a Chinese buffet luncheon. Several times, the efficient and officious waitstaff tried to... More

One of the top 5 meals I've had in my lifetime! We had the five course tasting menu starting with risotto (best I've ever had, and I've had a LOT), tomato soup (yum), blueberry sorbet (delicious), haddock and shrimp with cream sauce (incredible), and chocolate souffle with raspberry sauce (great finish). Loved it!
