This is a family style restaurant. Not fancy but clean, good food and service. Every time we go there it is busy. My husband had the whole Maine lobster (very good). I had a pasta with shrimp (good) and our friends had fish (very good). reasonable prices.

We had been recommended to go to this restaurant and the food did not disappoint but was not anything exceptional. First time I had ever been told by a waitress to cut into my steak to see if it had been cooked properly, but then Bucksport is not NY. Regardless, the food was good and plentiful.

The food and service were very good. Definitely recommend the lobster mac 'n cheese and the pumpkin cake. Yum, yum!

Tonight I had the very best butternut squash ravioli I've ever had. They make it fresh...the filling is packed with squash and spices with a bit of orange. Truly, if you like this type of ravioli you will love this. My husband had the burger which he thoroughly enjoyed. The service was terrific.

We were in town visiting relatives and they took us to Macleods. I am so glad they did! Everything from the bread to the dessert was fabulous. We had the butternut squash ravioli appetizer - superb! My entree was the fish and chips, also delish. Server was attentive and helpful. All in all, I would definitely eat here again.

There are literally hundreds of places to eat in down-east Maine, but after we experienced MacLeod's hospitality on our first night in Maine, we decided to return there for our 25th anniversary dinner. The staff made us feel like they opened the restaurant just for us. Our waitress even bought us an anniversary card when she found out that we... More

it was just a one night stop for us and we were looking for a good meal. MacLeod's is directly across the street from the Fort Knox Inn. Bucksport is a very small town so we weren't expecting much, but we were very pleasantly surprised. It's a family run restaurant with people who really care. My husband had the French... More

Good local restaurant with very friendly staff. Food is okay but limited. We had the stuffed clams, broiled scallops and grilled salmon cakes.

Our hosts at the motel recommended the restaurant for dinner. We had a delicious meal and were disappointed on a later visit to Bucksport to discover they are closed on Mondays.
