The tuna sub was very good, but there were way too many pickles, which was all I could taste. Had to take them off, as they also tasted too sour. The bread used was good, and even tasted like homemade. My husband, however, got a BLT, and he said that is the worst he had ever had...the bread he had... More

I have wanted to try one for years and finally had the opportunity. the service was excellent and fast. The sandwich was good, no complaints. I guess I am used to the other place where you can tell them how much and what you want for veggies. Years ago, my sister used to bring home form Portland, an Italian sandwich... More

Amato's started as the home of the 'Italian Sandwich' decades ago in Portland. They still make the best I've ever had. I think it's the bread. They have morphed into a multi-site, mostly take-out business with a great selection of hot and cold Italian dishes. Everything I've had has been good.

I didn't even know there was Italian fast food. I stopped in here twice for sandwich and my wife got pizza. Good, tasty and quick.

I ate here for lunch probably 8 times during a 2 week business trip, and loved it. No complaints about the prepared ahead salads, they were great. Same for eat-in calzone (REALLY big!), Panini, lobster rolls, and pizza. I even picked up spaghetti with meatballs ands sausage one night- very tasty. I'd highly recommend. If you don't like to stand... More

We really enjoyed the calzones which are prepared here. The veggies in them are not overcooked, so you get the real taste of fresh veggies. My only complaint concerns the desserts. The cookies are overpriced (but taste fine) and the brownies are dry and taste far more like cake than brownie. Stick to the Italian food and you will be... More

Got a large pizza pie and an original Italian sub. Both were ok nothing really good, nothing really bad. Nice people and very convenient; like a 7 eleven with an Italian twist.

This place is probably great for subs and pizza. Not so good for spaghetti and alfredo. Extremely slow service
