Parents night out

1st time visit we decided on a couple appetizers & beverages. Hubby & I tried both types of french fries & the grilled caesar salad. Both were delicious, but was a bit surprised at the salad size & that chicken did not come with the $11 salad. Bartenders were very friendly & we enjoyed the vibe of... read more

Such great potential! The Frontier Café, set in an old Brunswick, ME mill, offers just incredible atmosphere with really nice water views. This is a unique restaurant which also features art exhibitions and even a small theater. Nice! However, bottom line for me, this café is just way too expensive and it has a very limited menu! For example, there... More

Restaurant itself is beautiful. Fun space and excellent location. Unfortunately, neither food nor service was very good. Soup took 15 minutes and was lukewarm. Jerk chicken taco- chicken way over done: actually crunched like cinders. Curry overwhelmed mussels and was too salty. The burger was good, but a bit dry. Food took forever. Noticed people leaving seats and approaching bartender... More

Bad day indeed, and we are very apologetic for falling embarrassingly short of our normal customer service. We appreciate you taking the time to express your experience, and I can assure you this is something we take very seriously. When did you visit us? Thank you. More

The space is really artistic and cool. The food is pretty good. The service seemed a bit lost and run down. The atmosphere is a little too cafeteria like. The drinks are creative and interesting.

I love the atmosphere at this restaurant in an old mill. Relax by the large windows and take in the scenery or enjoy a movie, local music, variety of art programs. I love a cup of coffee or glass of wine and watch one of a variety of movies in a small theater, old, but comfortable seats and tables. Order... More

We love to eat at Frontier. The atmosphere is great; the food is fresh, interesting, and delicious. They have a selection of gluten free/vegitarian foods as well. You can even eat your meal (or dessert or have a drink) while watching movie in the small theater off the main restaurant. (There is no peripheral noise.) The service is good overall,... More

Great casual, but charming setting, charming, not generic, well-considered menu, great for family and dates alike... bonus quiet spot for entertainment/non-mainstream movies. They always source out local food/farms, have a reliable, permanent menu with specials that are hit-or-miss, but always inventive, and the pick-your-own meat and cheese plate is always a good option for a surprisingly filling snack. Likewise, the... More

Frontier is one of our favorite places in town. The food is always solid, the drinks are creative and really tasty and the location/ambiance doesn't get any better. The only complaint that I would have is that it would be nice to get a few more seasonal choices to update the menu which after frequent visits does get stale.

Have eaten here twice and loved it both times, especially the sweet potato fries. Great views over the river.

The Frontier has evolved over the past few years into a great gem. The building is beautiful, the views are great and the food/drinks are yummy. We love the local inventory and healthy alternatives. We have had a few staff that seemed like they didn't know much or maybe didn't care to be there- but for the most part the... More
