Great seafood

This is a "fish market" that also offers seafood sandwiches and meals to eat in (at the few tables in the waiting area), eat outdoors at picnic tables, or take home.

We were recommended this place by a local. The spot is small and quaint with a nice outside dining area. The seafood was excellent, especially the chowder! The special was a boiled lobster, chowder, cole slaw and a roll, all for $15.99! Everything was delicious. Great value! We'll be back!

Fantastic lobster roll!!! Here from Virginia and it's our 2nd time here in 2 days. Hole-in-the-wall atmosphere.

The same cannot be said for the old oil smell that permeates your clothes as you walk in. Buy the fish and take it home for a real treat. Caution:in the summer when busy they can get crazy rude...

The fish market has very fresh fish of all kinds and their lobster rolls are excellent. Staff and service are very good. Most of the outdoor seating is right next to a very busy road; no view; not relaxing, BUT there's a lower table area with a view. Even right on the road, the lobster rolls and fish dinners are... Gurnet's has wonderful seafood: diver scallops, lobsters, seafood chowder, etc. No need to go anywhere else. In addition, I always find great conversation and friendly help.

Best seafood on the mid coast. Outside seating on the water is nice in warmer weather. Small casual dining area is comfortable all year.

Love this little Fish Shack fresh fish, terrific oysters, and big lobsters -- we love it all. The employees are great, accommodating, and always supply us on a weekly basis fresh seafood.
