Amazing Dinner!

Came here for the Christmas Eve dinner (the Feast of Seven Fish). Every dish was phenomenal, super flavorful and nothing felt redundant. I could see the chef from my seat and he put attention into every single dish, down to the last one of the night. The servers were attentive and personable. Great... read more

Great Wine, Great Food, the menu was one of those where you have trouble choosing because they all sound so good! Great seafood dishes, not your typical pasta heavy Italian, more fresh and light with Italian influence. LOVED it!

I suppose even a great restaurant can have an off-night. I had heard great things about the Trattoria Athena, but our dinner experience there was so bad that it is highly unlikely I will return. The prices were unjustified in every regard, and the best that can be said of the service is that the place was crowded. (Why, I... More

Brought friends here to eat on our last weekend in Maine for Summer 2015! The Trattoria rewarded our choice with tasty appetizers of lightly breaded deep fried arthichokes and crostini topped with layers of pistachios, home made ricotta, and a light touch of honey. For our entre's we chose short rib ragu, tagliatelle with funghi, and superb little pasta envelopes... More

Whenever we get to or near Brunswick, we make a point of eating at Trattoria Athena and its sister wine bar Enoteca Athena. We are always greeted with knowledgeable and professional servers who are committed to customer satisfaction. The menu has seasonal changes and always affords nightly specials based on locally available product. The fried artichoke hearts and stems are... More

Trattoria Athena is one of the best half-dozen Italian restaurants we have eaten in in the USA in the past 5 years -- and we've eaten in dozens and dozens. The food was fabulous, the wine list small but exceptionally well-chosen. We especially enjoyed the tomato and bread soup, the fried artichokes, the ravioli, the risotto -- everything was truly... Great little restaurant, we were so glad to learn it's there and will definitely return. Food is very good--we especially enjoyed the following: fig/ricotta starter, smoked trout dip, blue fish entree, ravioli with lobster, baklava, budino. It is really an Italian/Greek combination restaurant, so don't expect a Greek menu only. The portions are on the small side, but that is... More

We were out for birthday dinner. Four teenagers and three adults. Meals were varied; all met expectations. Service was good even with the size of our party. It was a wonderful evening. Discovered that there were two other birthday parties. Singing filled the air!

I experienced this restaurant a number of years ago when it was new. Real, old fashioned Greek food with a new world twist and decent prices. Now it is very pricey and very nouveau cuisine. And the service was unbelievably slow. I made reservations for 7:30 (we arrived promptly) and we did not get a table (any table) until after... More

One would never guess from the street and outside of the place, what a treasure is inside. This tiny restaurant (make a reservation if possible) serves food that one would expect to find in a bigger city. For a real treat are try one of the wine dinners offered several times a year--an opportunity to taste four or five wines... More
