Quality all round.

Visited this pub on a Friday afternoon @5pm to try the early bird menu. We were both impressed by the quality and presentation on the food, plus the service and the attention to detail was excellent. The atmosphere in the pub was just how a good village pub should be, with friendly locals adding to... read more

What a shame the excellent food in this little pub is ruined by the icebox of a bar. I went on a Friday night, with my sister. We sat at a corner table in the bar, opposite the door as you come in from the car park. It didn't help that it was a bitterly cold night but, even so,... More

Thankyou for your review, and we are sorry that you were cold. We are about to have a refurb and the coldness in the whole pub has been noted and is being acted on. We are going to have grids inserted into the tops of the fixed seating so that the heat from the radiators can be dispersed. Also since... More

The room was very cold, the chairs were uncomfortable and the food was cold, too. We had lunch at 12.30 p.m., when the pub was virtually empty, which explained the attentiveness of the lady behind the bar, who was also the waitress, but not the cold food. We were told that the portions were smaller at lunchtime than in the... More

Thankyou for your honest review and we are sorry for your bad experience. If we had known about the cold food we could of rectified it for you. We try to offer a "light lunch" so portions will be smaller, although everybody's appetite is different. Hopefully you will come back and you will have a better experience. More

This was the first visit but cannot wait to return.. The welcome here was fantastic, the service superb, and the food was really delicious. A great choice of home cooked food served in a lovely restaurant (I had tempura sea bass) it was really tasty. There was live music on in the bar too which we thoroughly enjoyed after our... More

Have visited this pub many times over the last few years but first time under new management. Had a very warm welcome for ourselves and our dog. Very impressed by new decor especially the sofas in the "coffee corner". Still a traditional pub serving great real ales as well as a reasonably priced lunch menu. Will certainly be returning as... Wonderful little country pub, Linda was a wonderful front of house host, very welcoming and got us sat down straight away. Pub was nice and busy and well looked after. Excellent menu, had a hard time narrowing down what I wanted to eat. Food was fabulous and I would recommend the steak, it was beautiful. Excellent value for money also.... More

We came here for the first time as a family to entertain a visitor from Germany. Lovely sunny garden, welcoming pub and attentive, friendly service for a light lunch, drinks and coffee at very reasonable prices, thank you!

Set in a rural quiet village, there is an extensive menu including tasty home made pies, lovely surroundings and excellent food and the staff were very welcoming. I will certainly go back again.

Absolutely, amazingly wonderful to see a pub that welcomes their guests with such a huge warm welcome. So lovely to have owners who really care about their guests. Looking forward to many more evenings spent in there getting to know the local community. Thank you xxxx
