Our experience here started off awkwardly, as the hostess inexplicably directed us (four adults and 2 month old in a car seat) to a table set for two. When we rejected that option, she promptly set us up at an adjacent table that had enough space to accommodate us. Our server arrived shortly thereafter, with a scowl on her face.... More

I have been eating here for years and never have had bad service or food. Breakfast, lunch or dinner me and my family always left satisfied.

We had a great meal, the ambience is a little lacking - no table cloths and the dining rooms are not decorated with much flair, but the food and prices were worth the trip. Enjoyed chatting with the bartender prior to being seated for dinner.

OMG the home made crab cake on the eggs benedict was wonderful!!! This was our 2nd time at the Black Horse. The service and food were good on our first trip and we saw the brunch menu, which led to today's visit. We had the same waitperson, you could tell she was experienced and we wanted for nothing. The bloody... More

Tables are way to close to each other . Good is decent but at times can be loud in there. Friendly enough staff .

The Black Horse is one of my favorite restaurants in Bridgton. Has a varied menu and the prices aren't bad either. I really like the baked stuffed haddock. Service is very good.

If you are looking for a burger on a saturday or some amazing fish dish on a friday night or just the best steak in town, look no further. The staff is super friendly - which can't be easy because it gets SO busy! Excellent food, great atmosphere and the Sunday brunch is fantastic. Join their Facebook page to see... More

I have been to the Black Horse Tavern several times and have never been disappointed! The steak tips are to "die for"! The fish chowder is thick and delicious. Fried clams were tender and lightly battered - best I've had in a long time!

The Black Horse stands out as one of the only restaurants in Bridgton, an otherwise-lovely little town on the road from Portland to North Conway (that is, aside from coffee shops and pizza parlors). It is an agreeable-enough place with good service. But from the menus through dessert, there isn't much difference between it and a well-managed Ruby Tuesdays. There... More
