A visit to Tom's is certainly an experience

If you're looking for amazing food, this is the place. Just make sure you've got ~3 hours to wait for it to come! And make sure you have reservations as to not have your head chopped off by the hostess. What I gathered from said blunt and downright frightening waitress/hostess/probably-Tom's-wife... read more

I REALLY wanted to eat at Tom's. I hadn't been there in years. I called about making reservations and was cut off mid sentence, telling me to come "tomorrow" instead. I will try, again, the next time I visit the area, because I really would like to revisit a great memory, but I truly hope that the owners learn that... More

And make sure you have reservations as to not have your head chopped off by the hostess. What I gathered from said blunt and downright frightening waitress/hostess/probably-Tom's-wife is that Tom is the only one cooking. Which makes... More

I am blown away by the fact that a husband and wife run this restaurant alone six days a week and consistently serve absolutely fabulous meals. They do not operate on the usual restaurant model so it can be easy to misunderstand. They make everything from scratch from salad dressing to dessert and prepare meals to order. This is a... More

My husband and I were on vacation trying all the restaurants in the area. On a Thursday evening we stopped at Tom's only to have to wait at the door for over 5 minutes. While waiting, we observed only 3 occupied tables. Finally a rude unpleasant older female approached us and told us we would have to leave she was... More

After looking for a restaurant in Bridgton, this delightful-looking homey restaurant was where we thought we would enjoy a good meal. We never did eat (so we can't comment on the food) - but the waitress there was abrupt, had no eye contact, was less than engaging, didn't ask us if we wanted something to drink and rushed through the... After finding another restaurant closed, my husband and I and another couple decided to try this sweet looking place in Bridgton, Maine which we had passed by many times. We were completely bowled over. The setting and ambiance are comfortable and elegant with lots of space between tables. The food was amazing. We had appetizers- a salmon and trout plate... More

After walking down Main Street in Bridgton, we happened upon Tom's Homestead 1821 Restaurant and decided to try it for lunch. The house is a cool old home with an interesting history that is provided in the menu. My husband had a sandwich and I had a burger. Both were good and satisfied us for lunch. It was interesting that... More

We always enjoy the food at Tom's Homestead. It is a attractive old home. Reservations are recommended as it is the chef and his wife Karen is the server. It is important for them to have an idea of how many people they will be serving. All meals are prepared to order and delicious. They also have a. very good... More

My husband and I stopped in on our way back from North Conway, ready for lunch. They had a special for the lobster roll, paired with a cup of clam chowder, for $12.99 that day. My husband stated it was perfectly done, the best he's had. The chowder had good flavor, but was a bit thin. I had a burger,... More

Liked the menu and the historic building and dining room. Everything is homemade and excellent. Friendly atmosphere.
