Nice Ambiance and Good Food

After walking down Main Street in Bridgton, we happened upon Tom's Homestead 1821 Restaurant and decided to try it for lunch. The house is a cool old home with an interesting history that is provided in the menu. My husband had a sandwich and I had a burger. Both were good and satisfied us for... read more

My husband and I were on vacation trying all the restaurants in the area. On a Thursday evening we stopped at Tom's only to have to wait at the door for over 5 minutes. While waiting, we observed only 3 occupied tables. Finally a rude unpleasant older female approached us and told us we would have to leave she was... More

After looking for a restaurant in Bridgton, this delightful-looking homey restaurant was where we thought we would enjoy a good meal. We never did eat (so we can't comment on the food) - but the waitress there was abrupt, had no eye contact, was less than engaging, didn't ask us if we wanted something to drink and rushed through the... After finding another restaurant closed, my husband and I and another couple decided to try this sweet looking place in Bridgton, Maine which we had passed by many times. We were completely bowled over. The setting and ambiance are comfortable and elegant with lots of space between tables. The food was amazing. We had appetizers- a salmon and trout plate... More

We always enjoy the food at Tom's Homestead. It is a attractive old home. Reservations are recommended as it is the chef and his wife Karen is the server. It is important for them to have an idea of how many people they will be serving. All meals are prepared to order and delicious. They also have a. very good... More

My husband and I stopped in on our way back from North Conway, ready for lunch. They had a special for the lobster roll, paired with a cup of clam chowder, for $12.99 that day. My husband stated it was perfectly done, the best he's had. The chowder had good flavor, but was a bit thin. I had a burger,... More

What a nice, relaxing atmosphere! The food is excellent, I had the duck with raspberry sauce-awesome! It is family owned and run so it's not fast food but a step back in time when food was enjoyed not devoured.

Has to be the best food in Maine! Can't understand some of the negatives here, other than waitress is a touch "cold" to say the least, BUT if you want great food at a great price this is the place. This is NOT fast food, & she'll be the first to tell you!

The food here is divine! My husband had the Mixed Grill, & I had the stuffed Haddock. Both were excellent! One of the best meals we've had. We enjoyed the cozy atmosphere as well.
