We stopped there because my sister wanted to try their lobster roll, which the owner of our hotel said was the best in the area. She hesitated at the price (around $17 for lunch), but ended up really enjoying it. It was large, loaded with lobster, and she said it tasted great. As a vegetarian, I got the cole slaw,... More

Our son goes to the University of Maine, Orono and we came to visit. Wanting to take him out to lunch he led us to this tiny, red, crooked cabin on the side of the road. He said that we might have to wait for a parking space because all the cars fill in the few spots they have. We... More

Had the best lobster salad ever! Very generous serving of lobster at a very reasonable price. The place is small and "dated" But the food was great.

Was headed to St. Andrews, New Brunswick; landed in Bangor to drive the rest of the way. Asked car rental person for good place to eat on the way to Canada. Not much to look at, but the number of cars suggested he was on point....and he was. Diner type atmosphere, but the best lobster roll have eaten. Friendly efficient... More

Excellent Lobster roll....pure Lobster Meat that you must eat more than half of before it's possible to pick up the roll. Yup it's a favorite! There is a steady stream of customers as it is on busy Rte 9 heading to Canada....but worth it!

The much heralded lobster roll was so-so: lots of good lobster meat, no dressing, lousy bun. The "homemade" blueberry pie was a glutinous mess and overly sweet. Cramped quarters, a small window overlooking the Penobscot river, indifferent service. Does not merit the cars outside nor the reputation built up here.

This was the perfect stop for us on a long drive when we wanted a real meal and no fast food. The room is small but we were seated right away and the service, despite a disclaimer on the wall asking patrons to be patient, was quick and very friendly. Almost every other table had lobster rolls and they looked... More

We were so glad that we went out of our way to find "The Nest". This is truly the kind of Maine food that we were looking for. Just kind of a "Mom and Pop" joint nestled on the bank of the river and serving fantastic food. We sat at the counter, because seating is limited and you might have... More

Eagle‘s Nest is the locals' favorite for lobster rolls, though the rest of the menu items are also very good. The restaurant is small and unassuming, but sits right on the bank of the Penobscot River. But don't let appearances deceive you. The foid is great, and the servers provide excellent service. Our lobster rolls were positively heaping and the... More

We went here for lunch today. It is a tiny little place on the banks of the Penobscot River in Brewer, Maine. We both had lobsta roll, which was nothing more than huge chunks of claw meat on a perfectly toasted roll with a bit of mayo and spices. Nothing better! Except maybe the chocolate cream pie, or perhaps the... More
