We stopped for lunch at the Eagles Nest, not having been there in several years. The restaurant was crowded and there was only one server, who seemed unable to keep up with the rush. The food itself was quite good with large portions of seafood and french fries.

We have been eating here for the past 5 years or so and our visit one month ago will be our last, sorry to say. The food has drastically gone below the standards of the great food that they served years ago. The lobster roll is much smaller and the bun soggy, the fries (bagged not homemade) are only a... The Eagles Nest isn't a 5 star restaurant but it's food is good, the view is great ( bald eagles do fly by often ) of the lower Penobscot River. It's usually quick and good but it can get crowded at meal time because locals ( like me ) love it.

Small hole in the wall restaurant with the best lobster roll. Nothing but claw meat and there is so much of it that you need a fork to eat it all.

As in the other reviews, the place is small but the amount of meat of the lobster roll was huge! Simple fare in a "local" restaurant, but the server was friendly and the lobster roll was the best I had of the 3 LR meals I had while visiting ME and NB (CA).

The place does not look like much, but always seems to be full every time we drive by it, so today we decided to stop in for lunch. Sitting on the banks of the Penobscot River, it is nothing fancy, with limited seating and cramped quarters, but the food speaks for itself. I had the Fish&Chips and my wife had... More

Yes, there is a but....a few of them.... However, the lobster rolls are indeed the real deal. High grade/quality lobster, about 1/2 lb of meat per roll, featuring claw meat. Small, no-frills roadside diner. Nice views in their dining room overlooking the Penobscot River, just outside of Brewer on the way to Calais/St.Stephen. Parking area out front, along the road.... We ordered take-out as we were passing through the area. The parking lot is very small and always full. Be prepared to wait as this is a very small operation (one cook and one waitress). The serving size is huge and well worth the wait. Do not be deceived by the size of the building, as it is very small... More

The place is tiny and crazy busy. We stopped in because of how crowded the parking lot is - that's usually a good sign. Their lobster rolls looked fantastic and a huge portion. Same with the meatloaf special. Gary had a huge burger for $7, I had a tuna salad sandwich for $5.25, quite inexpensive. The building is very old,... More
