Old school charm, delicious food.

This place is an institution in Boothbay and in some ways feels just too old and smug. The food is fine, the service is friendly but there is something just missing. But by all means, try it.

There were 8 of us for dinner; it was high season in July and the restaurant was bustling. We were greeted with wonderful smiles and great humor. The wait was minimal as we had made reservations. I was able to see many familiar faces and couldn`t have been more pleased. The view of the harbor is unsurpassed. The wine selection... More

Loved our room, but breakfast was just ok. Met by a very unpleasant "hostess" seated and waited for a bit. They were very busy so I can't complain. Food was just ok. I would walk across footbridge for a good breakfast. Try Andrew's harborside it's yummy.

Brown's offers the usual seafood fare focused on lobsters. The quality was quite good but this is a restaurant that focuses on simple dishes and serves many diners. Service was helpful and timely. Unlike other restaurants in the center of town, it was easy to park and tables were readily available even on a Friday night in August.

We enjoyed breakfast two days while staying at Browns Wharf Inn, and I'm sorry I didn't get to have dinner there, too. The service was excellent and the food was hot. We will definitely go back!

We were seated as soon as we arrived, though we had called ahead, since we were a party of 6, including one 27 month toddler. We shared one app, fried calamari, which was light, crisp and fresh. So much better than back home. A great wine list and beers on tap as well. All four adult entrees were decedent and... More

1st night the locals sent us back to the hotel to eat, Turkey dinner, pricey at 16.00 but so yummy. My sister had Chicken marcela didn't like the pasta with red sauce with the Marcela. We went to sit at the bar another night and sat at two empty places at the end corners of the bar, where two people... More

This time we opted for the 1 lobster each rather than the twin lobsters for heartier appetites. This was served with sides of sauteed zucchini and potatoes au gratin. Everyone launches into their lobsters first, so it might be nice to present the sides in covered dishes, as ours cooled quickly. The lobsters were first rate. The brown ale was... More
