I like lobster, but not steamed. I did enjoy the crab cakes. The mac and cheese was great also. We liked their beef tips. The Apple walnut salad was also very good. The house salad was very fresh and tasty as well. The service was very good and if you had a window seat the view was fantastic.

There was something there for everyone and excellent kid choices and plenty of Maine flare - we ate in and we did take out and both were excellent.

Overall the Tugboat Inn restaurant was OK. We were given small chix lobsters. One of our party had scallops and said they were very good. Blueberry pie tasted like meat, one of the party said that it was lard in the crust. Not sure.

We were debating whether or not to walk up another hill (there are lots of hills in Boothbay Harbor!) and we ran across the Tug Boat. The menu looked good and I was told by friends the lobster bisque was worth the visit. They were right. We had a light lunch, just soup, salad, and drinks. The lobster bisque was... More

Food has been consistently good, but not great. Nice not to need reservations. The waterfront view is always enjoyable. More reasonable than many restaurants. Also went down to the lounge--very loud but good music, but quite fun enjoying the locals dancing and jamming.

The lobster bisque was great... but the first time it was served room temperature and had to be returned to the kitchen to be warmed up. The steak had good flavor, but it was soaked in a meat juice/sauce that tasted very artificial. Their bread was delicious. Their salad was good. The view is great.

Excellent food, especially the seafood dishes, and especially excellent music in the Tugboat Lounge. Danny Beale on the weekends has an amazing repetoire and he is a talented, versatile musician who relishes relating to the crowd. Also popular and talented is Kay Brown during the week. Both attract and entertain locals and visitors alike with their vocals and musicianship. They... More

We have great family memories at the Tugboat and I've had super fun business meetings there through the years. We chose the Tug so my Mom wouldn't have to walk stairs....when we got there, no tables were available, (I had not been allowed to make a reservation for a party less than 7). There was no place for us to... More

The Tugboat Inn Restaurant was where I ate my first whole Maine lobster several years ago. When we stayed in Boothbay Harbor recently, it was on my list to enjoy again. I chose their very affordable special that evening of soft shell lobster with delicious sides and of course dessert! The service and view is great. We will go again.
