Vegetarian Delight

Though Arborvine does not advertise a vegetarian entre, they put together the most delightful platter of sides with a special flare for flavor and detail. This is now our favorite restaurant in Maine.

If an elegant and unpretentious dining experience is what you are seeking then this is the place to go. The atmosphere is wonderful, we especially enjoy the dining rooms towards the front of the restaurant as they are a bit more intimate but can easily accommodate groups of 4-6. The staff is lovely and go the extra mile to make... More

We ate Christmas Eve dinner here and everything was perfect. We were greeted warmly by the hostess, brought to our table where our waitress thoughtfully took care of us. She was helpful in suggesting options for our teenaged daughter, she kept the bread basket full for our ravenous boys. We chose a variety of dishes and whether it was the... More

When we were planning a trip to tour New England to see the fall colours we wanted to include Arcadia National Park. In chasing down accommodation we ended up picking the Apartment at Arborvine in Blue Hill - which we had absolutely no regrets about. It meant a bit further to travel to get to the park, but only 20... More

So much has been written about the Arborvine that I don’t have much to add to all the positive reviews. However, I would mention for people just looking for a pub style casual and less pricey dinner the Deep Water Brew Pub (formerly The Vinery). It is located on the same premises as the Arborvine, on the left side of... More

I have eaten at this restaurant twice now and will go back. It's a little pricey so it will be for special occasions. But they truly were among the best meals I have eaten in a restaurant. The staff is also very friendly and the atmosphere is quaint. Make sure you make reservations as it's small and they fill up... More

We had a wonderful evening. I had the arctic char which was excellent but a bit too heavy on the say. The potatoes had been around for a while and the vegetables were not quite up to the fish but the dinner was excellent. My soup was very good but heavier than I expected. The salad was excellent and the... More

Had a great meal and service was very good also. The polenta served with my meal was spicy and I didn't care for it. The value for quality was average. Total for two with drinks and 1 dessert and tip was ~$150.

A special place for a special occasion. Comfy understated elegance. Local catch, local produce, local bakery...our kind of place. Attentive professional service. Warm atmosphere, good variety on menu, care and pride shows in preparation and presentation. Blue Hill has a place to be proud of with the Arborvine. It's not cheap, nor should it be. If you are looking for... More

Not only is Arborvine #1 in Blue Hill but we consider it #1 of any restaurants we have gone to worldwide. Arborvine deserves at least one Michelin star if not two. The ambience is wonderful, food is gourmet and outstanding and service is the best. The owners, Beth and John with their sons, have a wonderful restaurant. Make sure you... More
