"The Milton" as we call it in Bethel is a wonderful small and intimate place for the best seafood (those Nantucket scallops!!!) anywhere in Maine. The lobster roll is our favorite lunch on the deck during summer, and when the cold weather comes, we snuggle inside with chowders and bisque, or perhaps a steamed lobster. Good draft beer and a... If you are looking for a quiet, homely atmosphere with some great seafood and friendly ambience, this is the place. Our conclusion is that if we die and go to heaven, then they will serve Nantucket scallops there! We were so impressed that we went again. Don't miss out on visiting here if you get the chance. I love seafood and S.S. Milton has great seafood. We visited the restaurant on new years eve, the place was busy but the food and service were excellent. People in our group were enjoying lobsters, scallops, shrimp, and prime rib. I had the Boothbay Fettucini which was loaded with scallops and lobster in a rich white sauce. Chocolate Mousse for... This homey and warm restaurant serves up the best food in Bethel, and we've been coming here for 20 years. Forget about those overpriced restaurants on the mountain in Sunday River, drive into the beautiful, quaint town of Bethel, and enjoy the best of Maine cuisine served up by dedicated and professional staff. Stan Milton, the chef-owner, is an AMAZING... More

In the town of Bethel, not busy when we were there, so had a quiet table. The service staff was attentive, the menu carried traditional fare, focusing on seafood.

We read the great reviews on Tripadvisor about this place and made a reservation for the one night that we were spending in Bethel. Make sure you make a reservation as this place gets booked very quickly (people had to be turned away the night we were there because they were so busy). It has a homely feel like you... More

We were passing through Bethel on our way across the state and after reading Trip Advisor reviews, we stopped at Stan and Sue Milton's restaurant in the little downtown. We four sat on the porch and were served by a chatty local gal who was funny and helpful. We started our lunch with hot mulled-cider, which was simply wonderful, we... More

We were referred to this place by several locals and it exceeded our expectations. The seafood is fantastic and the blueberry desert is a must try!

Delicious food in a nice homely surrounding. We ate on the front porch. I had seafood starter and a steak for mains - delicous food at a reasonable price. Very happy with the SS Milton !
