S.S. Milton...I thought maybe it was short for savory and splendid, or satisfying and superior...

Turns out it stands for Sue and Stan, the owners. This was the best meal I have ever eaten in a restaurant. The owners are gracious, and Stan the chef, is as good as any chef out there...the bread was hot, the appetizers were amazing, the seafood was excellent, and the desert was home made also... read more

In a town dominated by golden retrievers (seriously, are you even allowed any other type of dog there?) we found this quaint restaurant for lunch over the weekend with a big menu. I had the grilled cheese and lobster, she had the lobster roll, and we both left having satisfied our lobster needs . . . for the time being.

This was exactly what we were looking for when we came to Maine. The whole Maine lobster was fantastic as well as every dish we had the pleasure to enjoy. The seafood chowder, French onion soup, and lobster stew might have been the 3 best soups we have ever had. Blueberry pie and key lime pie for dessert was a... More

Passing through the area we were looking for a place to grab a bite to eat. We walked up to this place and saw the sign that said they closed for lunch at 2:30. It was 2:25 so we started to walk away. The waitress leaned her head over the outdoor patty and said "You boys want lunch?" She was... More

Servings are plentiful and filling, but the food was salty to our taste and, though the staff thought dishes could be prepared without onion for us, that turned out not to be the case when the food arrived.

We decided to have dinner here on Friday night. I had the Grilled Eggplant Tuscany. Much more than I could eat but I'm not shy about bringing back leftovers. Tom started with a fish bisque which was the best I've ever tasted. We always taste each others choices. For dinner, Tom had the special of the day which was North... More

We bypassed the usual ski pubs and bars and found this charming little restaurant on a drive through downtown Bethel. The town was very quiet as it was late (ski) season, Sunday evening, so we were the only guests at the time. The owner and the waitress were very friendly and we very much enjoyed their company. Both our scallop... More

Soup was terrific. Scallops very good; Walnut-crusted chicken sounded delish but was a bit "rubbery."

My son picked this restaurant to try "something different" during our annual ski trip. Lovely waitress, good service and tasty, fresh food. My son loved his steak (he's not a very adventurous diner), my pecan crusted raspberry chicken was tender and delicious. Even the broccoli was excellent! And, my son claimed his Brownie Sundae to be the best he had... More
