Great local spot

We took a weekend trip up to Sunday River, and happened to stay at The Bethel Inn & Resort which is right across the street from 22 Broad St. We were not sure it was a restaurant at first glance since it's in a converted home. After 24 hours of ski bar food (one can only eat so many chicken... read more

22 Broad St is definitely worth the visit. The food is awesome (try the crispy eggplant lasagna!) and the value is excellent. The restaurant is set in a warm, cozy house with a pretty porch for warmer weather dining. This restaurant is great for couple or family dining. Don't miss it next time you're in Bethel!

The food was very good and the staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The house specials did not disappoint - the beef braciole was especially good. They have a nice wine list and they also had a few great bottles that were not on the list. In Maine you can take an unfinished bottle 'to go', which meant we could order... More

Dined at 22 broad street and had a good dinner in this cozy, yet lively restaurant. Most of our dinners were very good, but some were underwhelming. Would absolutely recommend the Caesar salad as everyone at the table rated it as one of the best Caesars ever. The tiramisu, eggplant lasagna and lamb shanks were all delectable! Grill fish was... I never thought I would enjoy this meal. I am not an egg plant guy. I was convinced to "try" it by the owner. Great guy BTW. Anyway, I will have this dish overtime I visit. EXCELLENT. Blew me away.

I live locally and had never dined here before this visit. We made reservations for 6. We arrived to find the walk-way covered in snow and a small little treaded down footpath to walk on. A bit slippery to say the least. Was greeted at the door by a hostess who gave us a fairly cold welcome as she looked... More

On our recent trip to Sunday River we had dinner at 22 Broad St. We ate there on a Monday evening and had no reservations. I would make a reservation on the busier nights as the restaurant is small. The food is primarily Italian and was great. We ate in a small dining room with a small wood stove which... More

In a food wasteland, this restaurant is a shockingly good option for the area. I was particularly impressed with their various eggplant dishes!

The atmpsphere is lovely; the sommelier was very helpful; the service was excellent; and the food was great! The portions were more than ample. I started with a delicious Caesar salad and then had the special fish of the day Grilled Red Snapper with a citrus compund butter, sauteed zucchini and summer squash and a side of tasty lingunine and... Anniversary dinner and we were not disappointed. Had calamari fritti (10.22) which has both rings and tentacles and antipasto for 2 (14.22) which hubby easily finished on his own. I had the half risotto (11.22) and hubby had chicken marsala. It was all very good and after a canolli, we left stuffed. Service was excellent and we look forward to... More
