Decided to get away from Sunday River to try something different, based on Trip Advisor reviews (and the mention of Indian food) we opted for the Jolly Drayman. My daughter's steak naanwich was good but she personally found it overly-cheesy; my husband's jumbo shrimp Tikka Masala was very good; my choice of the lamb chops was good but the lamb... More

Our meal at Jolly Drayman after a day of skiing was very enjoyable. The food was good, the service was quick, and the restaurant was charming, with a warm, comfortable, traditional pub ambience. The menu is an interesting combination of pub grub and Indian fare; our party tried both, and everything was very good. The only negative was that our... More

When you get tired of bar food, this is the place to go. The pub makes you feel like your back in Manchester! Food it is amazing and they have a very nice children's menu. More

Always a great meal in a town where the barn like skiers food, ie palatable but not much more, is the norm. We have had many good meals at the Jolly Draman and recommend it to anyone who wants good food, a nice noise level, and good service. Reservations are a must on ski weekends. the menu selection extends from... More

We had a good meal and fine brews at this small, friendly restaurant/tavern. We were steered to this establishment by a local innkeeper and we're glad he did. The atmosphere is convivial, the food satisfying, the service attentive, and they have many different beers on tap including Old Speckled Hen, which has its own fan club. We joined it for... More

I have visited this establishment twice during overnight visits in Bethel. Both times I have been impressed with the service and atmosphere. The restaurant is very much like the small restaurants you will find in many locations in Europe. It appears that all food is prepared once it is ordered; resulting in meals that are at the peak of quality... More

We found the atmosphere warm and welcoming. The beer menu is interesting and worth a second visit on its own. We had spring rolls appetizer, it was fresh and yummy, though one sauce was kind of odd (blue cheese BBQ sauce with a spring roll?). Sauces were on the side, so no matter, The other was asian and good. Entree... More

This is a favorite place for us, either just for a meeting of the "Old Speckled Hen Appreciation Society" (Ask Fred about this!) or for dinner. Have never been disappointed with the food, and appreciate the menu - quite different from other restaurants in Bethel. We never hesitate to send guests here, and they always come back having enjoyed their... More
