My wife and I enjoyed our meal here in the early afternoon. Busy place. Lobster is good, as well as side dishes. View from the patio is very nice. You sit right above a lot of lobster boats and across the harbor from the Swan Island Ferry dock. Worth a visit, if you're in the area. Comparable to Trenton Bridge... More

While not on our radar when visiting Bar Harbor, during our drive we came upon a great neighborhood and fishing/lobstering bay. What a fantastic discovery. From the start of ordering our meal that involved choosing the weight of the lobsters, to finishing, taking in the breathtaking local scenery, the entire time at Thurston's Lobster Pound was tops during our short... Had lobster stew and lobster roll - hubby had beef chili - all food excellent! Sat at bar and Genevieve took great care of us - cocktails looked great but we had draft beer which was just fine - blueberry beer very good and definitely worth trying

It's just another busy night at Thurston's Lobster Pound recently when I visited Mount Desert Island. Of course, we all ordered lobsters and were very happy with the sweet treat of fresh Maine lobsters. Atmosphere is nice with the option of open air dining or dining in the covered patio. They've expanded with a great bar area. I'd definitely head... More

It is worth going here for the experience. You pick the lobster size and get the experience of dissecting a lobster while you eat it. The line is long but worth the wait. They also have non seafood options. One of the employees helped me learn how to eat it.

Love the seafood here - served fresh and hot! Of course, the steamed lobster is wonderful as is the very chunky lobster roll. The lobster stew is awesome - do not pass it by! You do need to stand in line to order but the line moves fast. You can then pick a seat - indoors or outdoors if the... More

Absolutely great stop. The ordering tyle was a little different than what we were accustomed to but local and staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was priced what you'd expect for seafod. The lobster was phenominal. The service and restaurant setting couldnt be better. Great stop!

You line up at the tanks and watch your lobster be chosen for cooking... Lobster and corn were served HOT, thank goodness. So many times at places like this it's cold or barely warm. Loved the blueberry pie!

Location, lobster, mussels, chowder, beer and wine, a great time. Thurstons was by far the best choice we made when choosing a dinner location. Located outside of Bar Harbor on another inlet on the island near Southwest Harbor. You are in the harbor and have great views. The lobster was fantastic and mussels rank as some of the best I've...
