Good but inconsistent quality

We have dined here 4 times in the last 6 months and the food is good but inconsistent. We had a fabulous steak with crumbled Gorgonzola on top one evening which was excellent & cooked perfectly. Second time we took take out to some friends after having our meal and again was delicious. Third time... read more

Owners Gail and Jerry Savitz have created a winner. Less than a mile from the Route 3/1 turnoff towards Bar Harbor. Crowded with locals which is always a good sign. The building was created in 1865 and this has been a bar/restaurant the whole time. Art on walls by local artists. Antique European style bar. Tin ceilings! Nice. They have... More

Have been going to this restaurant for 6 years and never have found it better than so-so. It's good enough that we come back but it's not that good. The food is fine--particularly the burgers and Buddha bowl, an Asian inspired rice noodle/meat/veggie melange. The service is slow, the kitchen is slow, and it's a very ordinary place. And yet,... Went for lunch and a beer. Menu was varied and our lunches - Pad Thai & Crab Roll were good. Unfortunately we won't be going back. The draft beer was warm. I asked the waitress if its always warm or if there was a problem. She said its always warm in the summer. Something to do with the hosing being... More

Mid-range dining. Broad menu with everything from a burrito to pad thai. And maybe it's asking too much to do a great job across such a wide range of cuisines. I had the chicken schnitzel with mushroom gravy. The schnitzel and mashed potatoes were very good, but the gravy could have been from a bottle. Side salad was excellent. Wife... More

Great menu, food was both tasty and beautiful. Three different dishes all wonderful. Desserts also out if this world. Service to match.

I have a shellfish allergy and I'm gluten-free, so dining in Maine is a challenge with the shellfish allergy alone. Our family mentioned this great place and I checked their menu, surprised to see a gluten-free menu amongst the interesting variety of menu items overall! We were seated promptly despite them being busy with overflow from a festival that had... More

Not haute cuisine, but decent food and huge portions. I can do serious damage to a dessert (especially a toffee sauced bread pudding with ice cream) but husband and I could barely finish mine. But what a way to go! Husband's seafood saute special was fresh and tasty, and my pad thai was well seasoned and spiced. Waitresses moved with... More

OMG! The Spice Cake with Scottish Toffee Sauce and Vanilla Ice Cream is most excellent ...and by the way our meals were delicious too! I had Pad Thai (totally yummy) and my husband had one of the signature dinner salads (very satisfying).

We stopped here on our way Down East for lunch. Service was very friendly. The restaurant is located on the main street in Belfast in what was several historic storefronts. We had the Cobb Salad and the Crab Melt, both were very good and portions were generous.
