Cozy tavern and yummy food! It was rainy that evening and the atmosphere was homey and enjoyable. We are glad we stopped as our hotel said they were great and they were right!
Darby's definitely has that pub feel but it's menu is not what I expected. They had some pub foods but also had some variety which made us feel that we weren't eating the same old thing. Enjoyed our meals and were very well prepared with large portions. Definitely worth a stop.
Darby's is an excellent choice for lunch. Haddock sandwich is very good, fish&chips good, quesadilla good, service good. French fries are unique (a bit soggy but accompanied by special vinegar) and the pickle is crisp. No pretense served here.
We came in after a road race. Granted, we came in with three adults and three children (about 12 months...all of them) BUT our server had a great opportunity to make 20% from this party of three bartenders/servers and their children. All she had to do was be nice to them, and us. My fish and chips was average. The... More
Nice pub atmosphere and pub menu. Food was average. We picked it for its gluten free menu, but it was very limited and did not have gluten free bread. They did have gluten free fries but no gluten free burger.
Once again a big part of our holiday In Belfast is eating most nights at Darby's, we ate 11 out 12 nights, one night our experience was not up to it's usual standard, food good but it pains me to say that the service was not up to the usual excellent level. Other than that it was a delight as... More
I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. I was quickly seated, my order was prompt and the waitress was a sweetheart. Prior to my meal they brought a basket of breads with the best cornbread I have ever had. It was an excellent meal.
There are few restaurants that you can call home. Darby's is one of those places where you can hang up your coat, relax with a superb bowl of soup, a fanciful salad, a delicious Buddha Bowl or a Hen of the Woods. I love Darby's for its relaxed atmosphere, it's host and hostesses and delicious food. Have a meal at... More
Make Darby's your dining stop when in Belfast. We were visiting friends in nearby Searsport and were not disappointed with this restaurant choice for dinner. Our friends had been here before and we certainly wanted to go. Our group of 5 enjoyed the New England clam chowder and selected a Cobb Salad, the Clam Cakes Special, and I enjoyed the... More
