My husband and I and another couple ate at Darby's yesterday for lunch. The wait staff is excellent: they are prompt and attentive with drinks, food and bill. We had :the crab melt with sweet potato fries, a salad with shrimp on the side, and 2 beet salads. The beet salads were enormous. The ingredients in the salads were fresh... More

Darby's is our go to "date night" when visiting the in-laws in Belfast, and we visit with our kids too. There is something on the menu for everyone. The pad thai is savory and satisfying and the Haddock is always fresh and prepared in a few interesting ways (I like the pecan haddock). Usually my biggest problem is deciding what... More

Two local friends invited us to their favorite Belfast restaurant where they, decades ago celebrated the purchase of their first home in the area. They have been returning ever since. You can be assured of a very warm welcome in this totally unpretentious establishment with authenticity. Original tin ceilings, a friendly bar, and warm wood booths create an old Belfast... More

This is a great place to go to if people in your party want different food items/cuisine. Well prepared and presented food, friendly service. Amazing dessert menu and the we 2 we had were great!

Darby's had been recommended, but we were disappointed in the quality of the food. The Buddha bowl was extremely salty and was mostly noodles (little in the way of toppings). Calamari was fair, a litle salty and greasy. Prices seemed high. The staff were friendly and helpful, though they were harder to find once things got busy.

We stopped there from the Bangor airport on our way to Camden and was very disappointed. The food was not high quality and the service was poor. To many other places to eat.

Belfast has limited choices. Over the years, Darby's has always produced a nice home style meal. Good service, good food, reasonable prices, homemade warm bread, cloth napkins. The menu is eclectic, with a wide variety.

I don't know if the staff read the most recent reviews or those were just bad nights but the service we had was friendly, prompt and efficient. And the food was really, really good. My husband's salmon was delicious and well prepared and the veggies crisp and excellent. I had the homemade mac and cheese and it was just right.... More

My children and I went on a Tuesday night - we never actually did see the hostess, who was in charge of seating us. A server came at one point and asked if the hostess had been by, and when we said no, disappeared. About five minutes later a young man in a short-sleeved shirt, shorts, and flip-flops sat us... Hello, we're very sorry to hear that you had a bad experience at Darby's on Tuesday night. I do want to let you and readers know that the young man who seated you was not a customer. He was the co host. There was a hostess and a host. We don't wear uniforms, but people can usually distinguish the staff... More

I want to start by saying that the wasabi burger I had was quite good. The mushrooms and fries were both a bit over done but they were fine. However,I found it strange that it took almost 10 minutes to be seated in an almost empty restaurant. We got water and then a minute later our waitress came to take... More

Dear Kristy, I'm so sorry you had such a bad experience @ Darby's. We like to think that our staff is upholding our high standards of service and decorum at all times, but clearly this was not the case when you were in for Sunday brunch. I am sincerely sorry. Reading about what happened, I felt I would be annoyed... More
