Young's Lobster Pound is a fun place if you are a lobster purist and don't care about all the fancy extras that go along with the lobster. Young's sits on the bay with a fantastic view. You eat a picnic tables either inside or outside. This time we ate inside as it was cold and rainy. As you walk in... more

First, let me say to the reviewer who called Young's Lobster Pound in Belfast, Maine "penny pinching", that the opposite is true- I found Young's to be the best and most delicious Lobster deal in Maine. I researched this for a week, doing the proverbial "Two-A-Day" Lobster meals throughout coastal Maine. Young's was the best, most succulent & flavorful, freshest... more

This is the special lobster pound which does not stay open late, has a nice option of bringing your tablecloth , radio etc and drinks as you watch the waters edge. This is the place you get it as fresh as it should be. This is the place you bring the children and they will enjoy as well. Lovely people... more

Youngs has been a family tradition, one or more times a year, for nearly twenty years. Where else can you go with a whole crowd, bring your own drinks and salads, then eat wonderful lobster overlooking the harbor and worry little about extensive clean-up and the mess that 6 or more lobster-crazy people can make when eating two or more... more

I read other reviews here and decided to try Young's Lobster Pound for, what else, lobster. My wife tried the shrimp - don't do it. We're from Florida and quite familiar with what shrimp should be, these were well below sub-par. I've also seen other reviews about some of their other food here, so it seems like if you want... more

Like several of the reviewers, I've been visiting this part of Maine w/ family for years and always make Young's a must. The lobsters are fab, the view is gorgeous, the experience is a delight. Even later in the year when the nights are very nippy; you have to sit outside on the dock/deck and listen to the gulls, and... more

We had read about that place in a guide book. We were very impressed. It is a rather rustic place. You're sitting on wood benches, eating on paper or platic plates with a flimsy platic fork. The lobster was fantastic, the steamers were great too. We came back a few days later, they did not have any steamers but had... more

I haven't been there for a number of years, but my friends and I used to stay at the Colonial Gables Cottages on Penobscot Bay, just a block or two from Youngs, Each time that we would come to visit we could hardly wait until dinner time so that we could call Youngs and order lobster and steamers. Within miniutes... more

A lobster, a roll, a potato, and half a corn cob served on a paper plate at a picnic table. Not too overpriced. I'd rate them higher if they'd turn down their damn order-up loudscraper while we were doing shows across the river. more
