Extremely fresh seafood and a unique dining experience. Enter the Lobster Pound through the big barn like door in the front and order at the counter. There is inside dining in the upstairs for rainy days and outside picnic tables to enjoy better weather. Right across the river from Belfast harbor so you can enjoy the boats and scenic views... skip the dinners and instead just pick out a lobster and pay the per pound price and have them boil it for you. nice view on the harbor looking back at the town/city of Belfast.

This is the best lobster we have ever had. We have tried other Lobster Pounds, but this one is the best and we stop by here even if driving north to Bangor, Maine. It is well worth the stop! Of course, the venue is very basic, large picnic tables and benches. Dogs are allowed in the outside area but not... More

I think it would be hard to find a fresher lobster! This is not the place for a fancy dinner. This is the place to order a lobster, sit on the pier and get your hands dirty!

No trip to the Belfast, Maine area is complete without a dinner at Young's Lobster Pound. Bring your own picnic basket, tablecloth, etc, and make an afternoon/evening of it. Get close and personal with the lobster you'll be having for dinner and a few minutes later TAH-DAH dinner. The staff is always friendly and helpful and you will not go... More

Yes you can probably eat lobster all over the world, prepared in every local custom, but nothing beats the purity and the essence of eating it right off the dock. You pull up into a gravel parking road facing a nondescript shack that reminds you more of a covered boathouse than a restaurant. As soon as you step out you... More

If you want real Maine lobster pound experience, this is a good place to go. The food is good but the place is not fancy (far from it)-- if you want a table cloth on the picnic table or a bottle of wine, bring it with you. To my mind, the best part of Youngs is the view of Belfast... More

Young's in primarily a lobster pound. There is outdoor seating and long tables set up in the barn. This is extremely casual eating. You can bring your own everything.....food, drinks, dessert, tablecloths. The lobster is very fresh and very delicious. We picked out the live lobsters that we wanted and waited while they steamed them. There are limited sides that... More

Outstanding. You walk up order your super fresh lobsters (or other seafood) go out back to the picnic tables overlooking the water and wait for your food to be ready. It is BYOB and people bring table clothes and make it an event. This is the best lobster that I've ever had an overall well worth a dinner.
