We stopped in on a whim. My bf is from mexico and prefers that cuisine. The meats with the entries are delicious! The sides are eh. Not bad but pale in comparison to the meats. Have been a couple times.

It was nice to find this fun and colorful place still open shortly before 9 on a Monday night (rare around here, alas), with a fun menu and decor, plus friendly, attentive service and decent prices. However: we only wish we could say the same about the food! I have to agree with the reviewers saying they really wanted to... More

Let me start by saying that the service is usually excellent, and the margaritas are AWESOME. I wish they had more menu options, and, unless I'm mistaken, I think they no longer replenish your chips and salsa. The prices here are a little higher, but the service, food, and atmosphere ate all very good.

Arriving in Belfast late, we settled for what we anticipated would be your typical Tex-Mex fare. But La Vida is a notch above. The bean stew special was spiced in a nuanced way -- not simply loaded up with chili powder and salt. It was excellent as well as were the coconut shrimp and salads. They offer some interesting cocktails... More

Considering my husband & I drove all the way from Camden to Belfast because I just HAD to have Mexican food, & this was the only place open off-season for lunch...it was a very fine choice. However, in the real world of less desperate diners, this would've been a disappointment. We really wanted to love it here as the staff... More

It was not my intention to go to this place based on reviews that I read earlier. But it was Easter Sunday and pretty much everything else was closed leaving us no choice. The place was completely empty except for my family so the service was prompt and friendly. The atmosphere is typical of many Mexican restaurants in New Endland.... More

My wife and I usually go here once a week. A very fun atmosphere with a nice staff. If you go during happy hour you won't go broke. We usually have a couple of Ritas and a beef burito . Ocassionally we indulge in a fried ice cream for desert. YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

The place is cute and staff friendly. My husband and I really wanted to like this restaurant but were very disappointed. The beef tacos were made from ground beef not shredded beef. But the big issue was the beef and beans were so over salted they were not eatable. The price was also high for the quality and amount of... More

I have been to La Vida at least 5 times over the past year and have always had a pleasant experience. The decor is bright and lively, which is nice on the Maine coast in the fall and winter, the service is absolutely fine, both knowledgeable and friendly, and the food and drinks are great. They have probably the most... More
