Yesterday I enjoyed a wonderful lunch at La Vida, Belfast's home of good Mexican and Caribbean food. I was craving fish and the fish of the day was Cod, grilled with a perfectly seasoned fruit and savory topping. Accompanied by Grilled Zucchini, rice and black beans, it was a perfect lunch. La Vida also offers chips and salsa to all... More

We stopped in the other night after exploring the main streets of Belfast and were treated to a surprisingly spicy meal. I say surprising because most of the mexican restaurants I've been to in New England have toned down the heat and the cumin and the garlic to a point where I was beginning to think I didn't really like... I visited this restaurant for dinner with my in-laws while on the way back from a trip to Acadia National Park. I liked the mix of Mexican and Caribbean options on the menu. I actually went the Caribbean route and tried out the Grilled Jerk Chicken Sandwich. They said it was the spiciest thing on the menu and they weren't... More

After being ignored at Chases we stopped in here for the first time. Pleasant atmosphere and quickly seated and served. Food was standard Mexican fare but tasty. 4 stars due to the excellent and friendly service.

We stopped in on a whim. My bf is from mexico and prefers that cuisine. The meats with the entries are delicious! The sides are eh. Not bad but pale in comparison to the meats. Have been a couple times.

It was nice to find this fun and colorful place still open shortly before 9 on a Monday night (rare around here, alas), with a fun menu and decor, plus friendly, attentive service and decent prices. However: we only wish we could say the same about the food! I have to agree with the reviewers saying they really wanted to... More

Let me start by saying that the service is usually excellent, and the margaritas are AWESOME. I wish they had more menu options, and, unless I'm mistaken, I think they no longer replenish your chips and salsa. The prices here are a little higher, but the service, food, and atmosphere ate all very good.

Arriving in Belfast late, we settled for what we anticipated would be your typical Tex-Mex fare. But La Vida is a notch above. The bean stew special was spiced in a nuanced way -- not simply loaded up with chili powder and salt. It was excellent as well as were the coconut shrimp and salads. They offer some interesting cocktails... More

Considering my husband & I drove all the way from Camden to Belfast because I just HAD to have Mexican food, & this was the only place open off-season for lunch...it was a very fine choice. However, in the real world of less desperate diners, this would've been a disappointment. We really wanted to love it here as the staff... More

It was not my intention to go to this place based on reviews that I read earlier. But it was Easter Sunday and pretty much everything else was closed leaving us no choice. The place was completely empty except for my family so the service was prompt and friendly. The atmosphere is typical of many Mexican restaurants in New Endland.... More
