My husband and i were in the mood for Thai food and saw the review of Laan Xang on Tripadvisor. We ordered over the phone and in no time our order was ready to picked up. We had a delightful picnic on the terrace of our B and B. The staff is very accommodating and made one of the hotter... More

This was the best Thai food we've eaten! Great steamed dumplings, pad thai, and Thai traditional fried rice. If you get burned out on seafood, you must try this restaurant.

I've lived in Laos and Thailand for years. I know the real deal when I dine, and Laan Xang (Million Elephants) is it. They cut no corners to Americanize their dishes. The Pla Mok (Fish Pocket) is genuinely spiced with fresh lemon grass and is cooked in real banana leaves. The noodle dishes are as good as I've had in... More

We decided to take a meandering drive and went into Belfast looking for something good to eat. Checked TripAdvisor and found Laan Xang. We were craving Thai and this was perfect. While doing mostly take-out, there are a few tables. We grabbed one while watching the steady stream of locals come and go. The Pho was amazing, along with Pad... More

This is the best of the 25+ Asian restaurants we have tried in Maine. The food has subtle flavors and every dish has a different sauce. This is a second generation restaurant; the first was in Connecticut. Here they have a farm where they raise veggies in season. There is a great harbor view from the deck but the dining... More

The food is superb. It doesn't matter what you order, it's all great. We are happy they have some seating and it's not just take out. BYOB

If you are tired of seafood while on the coast of Maine, give Laan Xang in Belfast a try. Stopped for lunch recently. It doesn't look like much, but the food is excellent and the view from the outside seating is awesome. My wife had the Pad Thai and loved it. This place is run with a very small staff,... More

Stopped for a vegetarian curry; they had several varieties. nice sized portions and tasty, though not the best I've ever had. I could have used a bit more of the jasmine rice to soak up the good sauce. The seating outdoors was just very pleasant and relaxed. Service seemed a bit haphazard, but friendly.

A breath of fresh air in Belfast. My family (ages 7-73) enjoyed a delicious dinner while gazing at the town activity and harbor traffic. Delightful fresh flavors, love the Pad Thai and Pho. Service was charming but unpolished. What do you want at a little hole-in-the-wall? Feels like a family-run restaurant, in the very best way. Trying hard to please,... More

Tried to eat at Chase's Daily but found out it is closed on Monday's so found this restaurant on a Vegan website. Located down the hill by the harbor, this tiny restaurant with outdoor seating only offers spectacular views of the Belfast harbor. They offer both vegetarian and meat dishes. The food was incredible, possibly one of the best Thai/Laotian... More
