light and bright

Ray Franklyn, chef at Solo Bistro, brings a light touch to bright flavors that perfectly enhance fresh farm to table ingredients. This is a fine restaurant, worthy of James Beard recognition. Just go.

Bath has lots of different places to eat, and this is the nicest. The menu changes daily to reflect the local offerings. Not the place to go if you just want a lobster -- it's more of a dining expereince than that, but not at all stuffy. Quality of the food and service is very high, wine list is strong... More

The food was mostly local and delicious.!!The place was also decorated really well. You could tell the owner was a designer. We had great service and really enjoyed our meals.

this was our third visit during a three-year period. Pro's: attractive food; pleasant and efficient servers; enjoyable setting; interesting menu with some real hits (curry mussels,, crab cake) and a few misses (shrimp and scallops) -- but still head and shoulders above anything else in the area, in our opinion; interesting cocktail menu; jazz on Friday nights. OUr favorite place... More

Fantastic service and food. Had half a dozen local oysters, salmon tartar, and grilled octopus, all of which were phenomenal. Prices reasonable. I highly recommend this place.

Solo Bistro is in downtown Bath, which is very picturesque. It is very small, so I can't imagine going without a reservation. We ate out on the sidewalk, it was quiet, cool breeze, attentive wait staff. They use a lot of local food items and the menu must change often, if not daily. Highly recommend!!

Our Inn keeper highly recommended the Bistro and after dining we agreed. It's in the middle of the old part of Bath , very eclectic in style and design but it works !! Service is only surpassed by the food. Excellent preparation and serving style. Menu is small but very diverse. Great Wine list ! Of note you can not... More

Food here is just delicious albeit a tad pricey but the quality is definitely on target. Had a grilled salmon sandwich with fish cooked perfectly. Love it when salmon melts in your mouth. My sister had the fish tacos and raved about them. We both had strawberry shortcake for dessert which was fabulous. One of my favorite restaurants in Maine.

This is one of the best restaurants we've tried in Maine. We are foodies from the SF Bay Area and always try to seek out great local spots.. Fresh, innovative food, excellent wine list, and most of all, excellent service.. We couldn't decide what to have because so many things looked good so we had dinner there two nights in... More
