We have gone there several times for lunch meetings and the food and service has always been very good. You can either sit on the deck or stay inside with the A/C.. It is right on the water front of the Kennebec River. They also have boat rides for a nominal fee.

I ordered a frozen mudslide, which came fairly quickly and was very good. Then I ordered a cup of lobster chowder and fried clams. Unfortunately they brought out both at the same time (why would they not bring the chowder out first???), so that while I ate my chowder the clams were getting cold. The chowder was good, with real... More

Prices were slightly high but sitting outside along the water was worth it. Drinks and food were very good.

We sat on the large outdoor patio which is next to the Kennebec River and had a fine meal. Fish chowder, clam chowder, club sandwich, a burger, a fish sandwich and other lite fair. We sampled several local beers. The check was $110 inc tax for 7 of us. I would recommend this place to anyone. Very good food, priced... More

We ate at the Tavern last night with another family. The service was a little slow and disorganized. We were not given kids menus until we asked (even though we had a 5 year old with us). The cocktails were very nice and creative. We had 2 orders of calamari to start - they came out right away - although... More

A very nice place for dinner. Neat view of the river. Outside seating available. Stop here every year on my annual visit

We had a much better experience this time around. Two years ago we waited over an hour to receive our orders. Despite our reluctance to return, we gave it another shot as we were starving and didnt feel like driving. This time around the food was great and the service was excellent. Glad we gave it another shot.

The food was average. Tried $14 bowl of lobster stew and it was basically a few chunks of lobster in milk. Certainly wouldn't have been enough for dinner. Ate a piece of fish, some fries and cole slaw from my husband's fish and chips plate ($15). Served warm bread rolls with butter which completed the otherwise skimpy meal. Asked for... More

Yeah, okay, it's touristy, but not overly. We sat outside and watched marina activity. The food was what you would expect in a decent seafood restaurant.

We boat to the tavern alot and tie up at the dock which is great and convenient during the summer months. The view is great when you sit on the deck and I was surprised at the service this year. The waitress was very good! I think there are new waitstaff which is probably the reason why. She was really... More
