Bar was great, bartender was great, food was wonderful. Pumpkinhead ale with Caramel-brownsugar-cinnamon rim was great. Downside was minimal: Little pricy on beer. Bar area was very hot and no way to regulate temperature.

We visited on a Wednesday evening after hearing good things about this place but were overall disappointed. I had to send the first glass of wine back as it was stale, setting the tone for the rest of the dining experience. The clam chowder was very good, but the salmon entree with (what?) ravioli? was very tasteless and an odd... More

We were on our way to Bar Harbor via route 1 from Portland and got off the road in Bath to find someplace to eat. After parking the car we went down to the river to find someplace to eat and this Tavern was exactly what we were looking for. They have a large seating area under tents and umbrellas... More

We got off the main road and went by thinking, "This looks ok." We had the best lunch with Lobster Stew being the highlight. Gentle flavored of cream, sherry and butter. And lots of lobster! Everything was terrific including the view. Tide was coming in over the parking lot. Glad we parked back a bit.

We were warned the service might be a little slow and it was but we were seated right by the water on vacation with a glass of wine. Who cares about a little slow service in that situaiton? And our waitress was attentive and knocked two drinks off the bill to make up for the wait that we weren't even... More

Excellent location on the water, lovely way to spend an afternoon. Food a little predictable, but the setting is what makes this place so good. Sitting on their deck with the water all around and the bridge as a backdrop is very special.

Doesn't matter that I'm a local. No matter if it's a glass of wine on their outside deck by yourself or a large full course meal with a large crowd. Large comfortable restaurant with friendly service and delicious entree's. Don't care for seafood? They have chicken, steak and other delectables available.

Good food with great view of the Kennebec river. One of the best lobster rolls ever. Friendly service.

We wanted to have dinner somewhere else so we went just for apps and drinks. We had smoked salmon wrapped scallops and they were crazy good! I just had a local beer but my wife had a margarita which she really enjoyed. The view was great and service was excellent.

We have gone there several times for lunch meetings and the food and service has always been very good. You can either sit on the deck or stay inside with the A/C.. It is right on the water front of the Kennebec River. They also have boat rides for a nominal fee.
