Skip the 'Snips

My husband and I are addicted to the Tavern's fried parsnips. After not being in Bath for a year or so, we were passing through on May 17 and stopped in for our usual Planter's Punch and 'snips. Oh No! They have changed the way they cook them; instead of thin, crispy strips they are now thick... read more

We have eaten here five or six times; in every case, the view is great, the food only fair. Today though, we had an experience that will cause us to encourage anyone who asks to never patronize this place. We sat outside on a sunny deck and secured permission to put up the umbrella for shade. Fifteen minutes later, without... More

Ate here twice. 1st for lunch, I had a Reuben which melted in my mouth. 2nd was lobster roll which was good. Not my favorite lobster roll ever but good. Their clam chowder also wasn't bad.

We were in town for a show at the Chocolate Church and had planned to grab dinner at Beale Street. Their wait was long, so we asked people in line for other recommendations and they sent us here. They said we'd get seated immediately and after a brief walk, we were. It's down on the river with great views of... More

A great place to stop for lunch along the river. The staff were friendly and the hamburgers delightful!

We were there for lunch, and it was just average. Waitstaff was efficient and friendly. Very attentive and pleasant. The food was only average and the chili was not tasty. It had a very different taste from any other chili. Nice view of the river, rest of neighborhood unattractive. Decor was simple but nice. Also, real linen napkins which was... More

We liked this restaurant which was opened late and directly across the street from the Hpton Inn. The food was great. They had really good seafood too.

We found this place by accident, driving into town from Pryor House (see separate review). Really handy and disabled friendly. A warm professional welcome and a good comfy booth. The service was attentive and warm. Great choice of food and drink, it was hard to fault. It is not a pretentious joint and clearly popular with the boating fraternity. From... More

Went this past summer and found the overall service much improved over previous summer visits. It's always been a lovely place to sit outdoors but we found the staff to be much more attentive and friendly this time. My lobster roll was fine, but I hope they've been putting a little more thought in to how to perfect it (I'm... More

We stayed at the Hampton Inn across from the Kennebec Tavern in Bath and arrived later in the afternoon so were running out of options for a nice dinner for the two of us. We saw the Kennebec and thought the location looked nice as it was on the water, so we asked our receptionist at the hotel what the... More
