Great BBQ

If you are looking for great BBQ in MidCoast Maine, Beale Street is the place. Best bang for the buck are the ribs. Order a whole slab and take the leftovers home. The only downside is they don't carry New England's best BBQ sauce, Tallywaggers BBQ sauce from Bath. I bring my own. Great selection... read more

Beale Street is small in size but large in flavor. This is some of the tastiest barbeque and ribs you will find this side of Texas. All of the side dishes are good. I particularly enjoyed the collards and smashed sweet potatoes. The cornbread is better than cake. I recommend getting a combo platter so you can try the ribs... More

This is a smaller restaurant tucked away off the beaten path. We have been there many times and it has turned into our go to place. The special last visit was sweet & sour fried ribs. They were just right, still moist and full of flavor. All dishes come with jalopena corn bread. Their hamburger is perfect if you want... More

Stopped here for lunch yesterday. Many options from which to choose, and I had these which were delicious.

Beale Street serves really, really good food. My favorites are the jalapeno cornbread with any meal. They grill the cornbread to give it a great crispiness and the jalapeno flavor comes through without adding heat. Their chili varies daily and is always excellent. If you like blackened chicken try the blackened chicken wrap you won't be disappointed. Their fresh squeezed... More

The pulled pork BBQ sandwich is like real southern BBQ - Awesome! Their shrimp or chicken jambalya is so flavorful that you will eat the WHOLE dish the first time! Their specials are wonderful and the wait staff of Cassy, Liz and Shea are professional, friendly and very knowledgable about each dish! They treat you like family!!!

If you are looking for real southern BBQ in the north, go to Beale Street! I eat there at least once a month. The service is great but the food really steals the show. The nightly specials are always good if you're looking for something new but my personal favorite is the pulled pork. It's the best I've ever had.... More

Ribs a bit dry. Black beans not sweet. Collard greens were excellent and so was corn bread. Ribs had nice flavor but dry.

We have dinner at Beale St 3-4 times a year. We love the atmosphere, as close to Memphis as you'll get in decor, music and menu, not to mention the wood fired smoker that you smell on your way past the building. The beef brisket is unbelievable as are the pulled pork and split chicken. The best part about the... More
