Admiral's summer menu includes a wonderful lazy lobster dish -- the meat from a 1-1/4 pound lobster served in either a cream-sherry sauce or drawn butter, with a choice of potatoes (I had smashed garlic), grits, or rice. Salad is a la carte and I like their chopped chef salad, which is like a Cobb salad minus the chicken and... More

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at the Admiral and enjoyed the best steak evvvah! The personable and efficient staff made the evening one of the best restaurant experiences we've had. Thanks, Admiral!

When you enter this building that used to be a gas station you are amazed at its transformation. The room is a beautiful combination of rich wood and blue walls. I had a filet and friend had the prime rib and they were both perfect. The salads were fresh and the dressing delicious. We finished the meal with an amazing... More

It was just what you would expect in a great classic steakhouse....warm, rich wood decor, comfortable seating, excellent service and good food.

I usually order the lazy lobster with garlic smashed potatoes. The bread that is served before the meal is piping hot and melts and in your mouth. The lobster, of course, is heavenly.

I have eaten at the Admiral a number of times and have always been very pleased with the food. The quality of the meat served here rivals any of the expensive steak houses such as Ruth Chris'. Absolutely a great place to eat.

I'm a retired, ex-patriot New Yorker. I'd be surprised if any readers remember a Midtown East Side steakhouse called the "Pen and Pencil". John Bruno, it's founder passed away several years ago. Regrettably, the Pen and Pencil followed John soon after. I won't go "on and on" about it. If you'd ever eaten there you know how lucky you were.... More

We went to the Admiral Steakhouse to celebrate my wife's birthday. We started with a nice salad and a cabernet. The house salad dressing was very good and the cab (I don't remember which one) was excellent. We both like steak and had the small filet mignon, medium rare, with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. The dinner came out in... More
