Great Experience

We love the feel of this place, quiet, but not silent, dim but not dark. The wait staff has been great each time we have gone, attentive, personable and accommodating. The host has checked in with our table (and all others as far as we can tell) each time we have visited. We have been going to the... read more

Just so the Trip Advisor community knows, the Admiral Steakhouse has closed and sold, and transformed into a church. In other words, you can no longer get the lamb, only the Lamb of God...

Admirals is a first class restaurant from beginning to end. It's a quite place to enjoy a great steak dinner. Wait staff are all professionals. We go there for special events like birthdays and anniversaries.

In the past, I've loved coming to Admiral Steakhouse. It's been my family's go-to restaurant for birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasion. This review is not for those visits. This review is for my most recent visit, which was on New Year's Eve 2014. My husband and another couple went to dinner at Admiral for New Year's Eve 2013 and... More

My wife said that the restaurant was very masculine, and if it were a study/den/library she'd be right. All dark walls and restrained lighting. But it's a steakhouse, and it looked the part. Our service was very good, but most importantly, the steaks, which after all are the whole point, were very good. Perfectly prepared, nicely served, and very good... More

Outstanding mahogany stained walls, and thermal green drapes give the illusion of being in the Captains Dining Cabin. The staff and guests are friendly. This use to be owned by The Chocolate Church Theater and when it was renovated they kept the track lights so the lighting is soft. We had the Prime Rib for Two: succulent flavor with Garlic... More

Dark woodwork, white tablecloth steakhouse. We enjoyed our meal before a concert at the Chocolate Church. The service was very good. The food was good standard steakhouse fare. Highlights were the Caesar salad and the salad special of roasted beets. Very good. Beef was prepared well. We would go again if we were in the area,

The ambiance is very cozy. However the food was not enjoyable. Salad dressing was tasteless. Prime rib tasted like it didn't belong in a quality restaurant. Asked for the prime rib to be served dry. It arrived swimming in juice. Mashed potatoes were delicious. Bread required an acquired taste.

My wife and I took Clive and Odie here for their anniversary. The restaurant is intimate (15 tables in the main dining room, and a separate room for private parties) with classic rosewood paneling, it smacks of a city style restaurant (New York, Chicago, etc.) Smith & Wollensky, The Post House, and Lawry's come to mind, without the high prices.... Don't let the size of this restaurant fool you. Rich dark wood throughout this space gives it a comfortable and appealing feel. Whether it's to share a sumptuous "cut-to-order" mouth watering steak entree with your special someone, family or a treat for yourself...a must try. Food and service is good, just be prepared to spend a little more than usual.... More
