Wide selection of sushi items, although Bangor sushi is not the same as Albany, NY sushi. Food is good, service is relaxed, and can get a little slow if they get busy. Pleasant place to pop in for a quick meal. Definitely a good value.

We have eaten Sushi / Sashimi / Maki rolls all up and down the east coast. We were so impressed with the size and quality of the slices of fish. We were glad to find out that they had Uni, especially when we ate some -- Wow!! We are looking forward to returning.

It's pretty easy having a good much less great meal anywhere (I'm way over-simplifying it) ONCE, with the real trick being able to recreate that good much less great meal [a second, third, etc. time]. I'm delighted to report that after having an outstanding lunch here today, Ichiban qualifies for consistently [OK, the two times I've been here so far]... More

I love Ichiban because I love sushi. Who knew you could find great sushi in Bangor, Maine. But I must say I now split my visits between Ichiban in Bangor and Yoshi's in Brewer - equally good. Good food good service. Makes my belly happy every time.

I went to Ichiban for dinner after reading reviews on your web site. It was delightful! the service was good and although the restaurant doesn't look like much when you park your car in the parking lot of a pretty ugly shopping center, I believe the owner did a pretty decent job in the inside. The sushi was great and... More

Ichiban located on Union Street in Bangor, Maine is a great place to eat at their bar, or with the whole family at one of their tables. This is not the typical franchise Ichiban that you find in shopping mall food courts. This is a full restaurant. Very Fast & Friendly Service, Nice decor, Very Good Food prepared in front... More

And that's coming from a sushi snob. First, the bad news. While I loved the way the place looked and was greeted warmly both by the gracious owner/chef Walter and our lovely server Keelin, I did notice that the bathroom, when I went to wash my hands before the meal, was a bit unkempt. I overlooked it due to the... More

Maybe the best in Maine! The alligator maki is everyone's favorite but they have a crazy variety of maki rolls to chose from. Ichiban makes EVERYTHING from scratch... The dumplings, all sauces, the salad dressing (YUM) We usually end with a array of sashimi. The quality and consistency is always perfect. Walter is such a hard worker and is very... More

I used to go out for sushi often years ago and back then Ichiban was the place for sushi in Bangor. There are lots of choices now but Ichiban remains on top. Excellent food, service and atmosphere. I have never been disappointed.

Many options here. The owners are super nice. I can't say anything stands out but I have enjoyed everything that I have gotten:)
