Great Specials

Govenor's is offering specials all summer long. We went on a Monday in June and got $3.00 Burger and fries. There were 9 of us in the party and this special saved us a lot of money. Went there for dinner one night. The place was really crowded as they had a burger special (which they actually ran out of when we were there). We were seated fast and got drinks fast. But the service to get the food was very slow (probably because of the burger special which it looked like alot of people were go... More

I was surprised and pleased - expected less and got more. It was uncrowded for a late dinner. Service was good, food was better than I expected. The desserts looked awesome, but we were full up from dinner so did not try any. There is a large scale model train running around the ceiling, which is awesome (OK, so I'm... More

A quick Wednesday evening dinner with my husband in a local spot nearby so we picked Governors on Broadway. We were seated right away, but it took forever for the waiter to have a minute to get to us. There seemed to only be 3 servers that night and it was busy, not crazy but likely 4-5 tables for each... its a Maine tradition. This is a small chain only in Maine. One family owned. The food is good. The decor is unique and interesting the service is ok but they do get busy at times. I say take the family. And go for it. All. governor's in Maine will be at the same level. Yes you should eat here

The service staff are just plain weird. The only time our waiter checked on us was when they were hoping we were finished and wanted to get us out the door. There was no line waiting to get in either. The food was just ok......not as 'homemade' as they advertise it to be.

Great all around experience for some truly local cuisine. Took my 2 sons there and was able to fill them up with the portions provided. Staff was awesome.
