My wife and I went to Capn Nicks for the first time since ownership changed. They are b est known for seafood, not much for ambience. The drinks were very good and the meals were both just right. The food was fresh and well prepared. The server was an old pro who is usually good for a ; laugh or... More

This restaurant is under new ownership and I truly believe that they are making progress. It will be uphill since the reviews from 2010 and 2011 are quite bad, and unfortunately I agree. However, we went for lunch today and it was very good. The fish and chips was a good portion of haddock that was done perfectly. I had... More

As with previous reviewers, Nicks was recommended by both the driver and the front desk at the hotel we were staying. I haven't had a lobster in quite awhile and have always found lobster to be kind of overrated as a for my palate. So, I was pleased with the waitress' choice of a halibut on the menu. The beer... Went here for lunch in May after the Senior Expo in Bangor, Me and definitely would not give this a second try. There were several ladies in our group and I didn't hear any boasts about how good the food was. I had the soup and sandwich for lunch and found the food tasting not to good. The place is... More

Captain Nick's was highly recommended to us by the desk clerk at our hotel. We had just arrived in Maine and were looking forward to great seafood.. We took the hotel clerk's advice and went to Captain Nick's and we were very underwhelmed. I got a bowl of their "world famous" clam chowder and have had better at Red Lobster.... More

Close to the airport you have this family restaurant, and with very good food, nice wines and a friendly service. They have great fish dishes, intresting beer on tap and all very affordable.

I had the Shore Dinner which is a lobster roll and a cup of seafood chowder priced at $18. The waiter told me it's the best chowder in the state and he just might be right. It was a simple and very tasty broth with lots of chunks of seafood. The lobster roll was also excellent. it had to be... More

While in Bangor I figured I am somewhat close to the ocean so why not take advantage of some good seafood. I asked several people and they all said Captain Nick's was the place to go. I ordered the Stuffed Haddock for $17.99 and was not disappointed but not enthused either. It was a slab of haddock with a bread... More

The food here has been wonderful for years, the prime rib is very tender and flavorful, the lobster is perfectly cooked. The service was top of the line and I never had to ask for a refill. The 'wicked good' pie was just that. Mouth watering all around and I would recommend this place to local and tourist folks alike.... More

My Wife and I just had the worst PRIME RIB EVER. I do not say this lightly. They advertise the best Prime Rib and we were in the mood for a nice meal and ordered the Rib. The restaurant was not busy( I understand why) Fri. evening. Our meal arrived and I was in complete disbelief, it did not even... More
