What a great restaurant in Bangor. We had the tomato tart and the ginger fried chicken. And the lamb was very tasty and they had a wonderful wine list. Our server was very helpful and the ambiance was great. I even loved the bathrooms which have a sense of humor "Employees must wash hands - after using the facilities -... More

What a great find here in Bangor. These folks don't fiddle around with the customers nor the fantastic entrees that they present to their guests. We went in on a Saturday night without reservations and were warmly greeted and offered two seats at the bar, which we enjoyed greatly. The beer, wine and drink menu is diverse. We started with a... As a party of 8, our waiter had a guaranteed gratuity of 20%. His service did NOT live up to that guarantee. When we complained to the owner she apologized and rushed off to question the server who stated that he came to our table 3 times to take our order...a bold faced lie, we waited 35 minutes for him... This is a restaurant whose "reach exceeds its grasp". It has an ambitious menu but doesn't always succeed in its efforts. Very good--the spinach salad with smoked salmon and radishes. Also the service was quite pleasant and attentive. Good--the appetizer of gnocchi with shrimp and the lamb chop Needs lots of improvement--the time to serve the meal. As attentive as... More

Sat at the bar and watched the bartender make some wonderful craft cocktails. Food was excellent, duck spring rolls, ginger fried chicken and waffle, watermelon salad, burger and pierogi. A must visit in Bangor.

I travel to Bangor quite often and always make it a priority to eat here for dinner. Whether I can from a meeting or the gym they treat me with such kindness and always try to find room for me at the bar. The place has such good energy. The staff there are so wonderful. And the food menu is... More

The Fiddlehead is a very special restaurant and reason alone to make the trip to Bangor. The food is utterly delicious and sourced from their own or other local farms. The tomato tart and terrine appetizers were subtle yet flavorful. We shared the grilled romaine salad and it was amazing. Our entrees were the chicken breast and lamb shops -... More

These people know the hospitality business! Smart decor. Friendly, professional service. Fabulous food locally sourced and beautifully prepared. My childhood summers in Maine meant lobsters in the yard on a picnic table - the only way to eat lobster, until now! Fiddlehead's lobster roll has taken a great idea and made it a masterpiece. The slaw and roasted potatoes tie... More

Stopped in after a relaxing day in Bangor. No reservation but they squeezed us in happily. Very friendly staff, excellent drinks, lovely decor. The cornbread and molasses was a nice change, salad was delicious. The only negative was that the locally raised beef was not lean but tough and seemed to be cut wrong maybe. When asked about it the... More
