Dining here gives you the feel as tho you caught the Lobster yourself and someone is in your kitchen preparing it for you. It feels like quaint New England style at it's finest. It doesn't get more New England than Cook's Lobster House.

The food is mediocre, although the service is usually quite good. The view over Harpswell Sound, particularly at sunset may make the long drive from Cook's Corner worth it. However, most people who live in Harpswell consider it a "tourist trap" that is over-priced.

This is diffidently a tourist trap! Average at best and way to expensive when you have so many other amazing choices. We have been there three times now, basically because they were open when our favorites were closed. Dated, poor service, average food at best. Must be living on the name they made from years ago. They need a visit... More

unless you like high prices, poor service, and lots of varnish in a tacky 50's beach decor don't bother. Red Lobster is better and classier. Must have been top notch at some point but not any longer. Only saving grace is that they are open later than other places.

I don't want you folks to get the wrong impression. I love Cook's Lobster House and especially love dining on the deck. However, the cost of dining has far exceeded a 'local person's' budget, although the food is generally uniformly good. This is a famous attraction in this area of Midcoast Maine, and your food will be good, but not... More

You really can't go wrong with a boiled lobster fresh out of the ocean so that doesn't tell you how good a restaurant is but we can say that the clam chowder is excellent and the steamers were awesome. I also really like the cole slaw because it isn't filled with too much mayo. It had a nice crisp zesty... More

+Wife and I celebrated our 30th anniversary in July with dinner at Cooks. I called a few days before we arrived and asked the manager to put candles and pink carnations on our table. She did a fine job with that. I requested an outside (deck) table with a view. Manager recommended against the outside table because of cold, wind,... More

Eating at Cook's was a nice Bailey Island casual eating experience. Being in Maine, we wanted to try the lobster and chowder which were good and fresh, of course. Service was excellent and the price was reasonable.

Last year was our first visit to Cook's Lobster House and we were eager to return on our fall trip to Maine a few weeks ago. It was a late lunch ordering the seafood platter and coleslaw. My husband and I split the platter. The fried seafood was soggy and the clams were chewy and we left them. The small... More

We ordered 2 rather large lobster dinners. Based on some previous reviews, I was expecting the market price of the dinners to be quite expensive. However, we were pleasantly surprised that the price was very reasonable. I know for a fact that lobsters the size we ordered would have been more in most restaurants in Portland (where we were staying).... More
