Good food at a good price

Some reviews of Cooks are good, and some are bad. This is a good review. I traveled to Cooks via ferry, got off the ferry, and headed over to Cooks. We've been a number of times over the years and have always found the food average with a premium on the location. This time however the food was terrible. The clams tasted like they had been cooked, refrigerated overnight and hastily reheated.

Very touristy on last visit. But new owners have taken charge. Anxious to go back. Have eaten there for years and always been good to very good but never great. Now, who knows .

Delicious. Perfect example of a small, local place that catches their own seafood, serves good drinks & sides to go with it, and hopefully makes a lot of money doing so. They offer lobster rolls either cold with mayo or warm with butter, the scallops dish was awesome.

This restaurant is not that far from our home, but we had never been, until today. Why did we wait so long? We had the baked stuffed haddock and the three baked stuffed lobster tails. The haddock was delicious, the stuffing was moist and flavorful; one of the best haddock dishes around. The lobster tails were the best he had... More

We stopped for lunch here on the Bailey Island cruise. We had Maine Clam Chowder and Lobster rolls which were very good. They have something for everybody.

Cannot say enough. Food was great; Service was great. Place was clean.Desserts were SUBLIME. We walked in at 1:00 as two bus tours were finishing up and heading out. They all seemed happy as they left smiling and calling out goodbyes to their servers. The remnants left by such large groups were quickly swept away leaving a sparkly clean dining... More

We took the Casco Bay Ferry to Bailey Island and had a great, relaxing family meal. My husband and I both ordered the haddock sandwich with fries. The haddock was cooked perfectly and the bun was soft-it just crumbled in your mouth. The kids meal was perfectly proportioned, and devoured and the cheeseburger also ordered was done just right and... More

Still as good as ever....I have been coming to Cook's Lobster House for many years now...probably since 1991. The restaurant changed hands about a month and a half ago so I was worried that it wouldn't have the same charm and atmosphere...but it still was the same as I remembered it two summers ago. The hostess allowed me to pick... More

We stopped for lunch on the Casco Bay Tour (which is wonderful) and Cook's seems like the only choice. We had lobster rolls, a crab roll, and fired clams. The clams and crab were were B+, the lobster rolls were C-. We have been having lobster rolls in town after town, probably 10 places all told, and the ones at... More
