Good revisit

We hadn't been here since the new management took over. Went for lunch on New Years Eve and loved it. The crab dip app was rich and delicious, and our shrimp and fish and chips were perfectly fried. Much more satisfactory than previous visits over many years.

Fantastic meal!!... one of the best haddock chowders I ever had! The one thing that made it even better was the exceptional service... I wish I could remember the gentleman name that waited on us.. but it turns out he is also the same man that made the delicious deserts! The cheesecake was so light and creamy and the frosting... Here, we had a beautiful wedding, with great seascapes and a charming old time-y interior. A must see in the area!

I took my partner here who had never had lobster before. It's a bit more pricey than if you find a remote lobster pound or buy a live one and cook it yourself, but I wanted him to have the full-fledged "eating for a lobster for the first time" experience and Cook's was great for this. We also were there... More

I'll make this brief - If you read the reviews you will see that the lobster casserole is by far the item NOT to order.... our experience was the same... EXCEPT we for 3 pieces of tiny claw meat and not 4-5 like others... all other was raw mushroom and all sauce... We immediately pointed it out to our waiter... More

Thank you for your response. I certainly apologize for the unpleasant experience you had here at Cook's. We have had some other complaints about the lobster casserole, on the other hand we have rave reviews about the dish. All the meat is portioned out prior to it being assembled in the dish and unfortunately, everyone always wants more lobster! Perhaps... More

My friend went into Cooks and ordered a lobster to go. What he got was a live lobster in a bag. I suppose he should have specified cooked, right? We were staying at a cabin nearby and cooked the lobster only to find that its claws were basically hollow. Not sure what's up with that as I am not a... More

Thank you for your feedback, however I am a bit perplexed and somewhat confused by your comments. I am certainly not discounting anything your friend may have said or how the order was verbally placed but we would not sell a live lobsters UNLESS REQUESTED. Apparently there was a communication breakdown on both parts perhaps?? To respond to your second... More

Went to dinner, no kids, wanted lobster casserole, have four pieces of lobster in my casserole, the size of my pinky nail! Not worth the money at all!

Had not been here in years, I left so very pleased! I enjoyed the freshest, most flavorful fish tacos I seriously believe I've ever had!! Chunks of perfectly prepared and seasoned white fish. Served with a side of roasted root veggies, I could not have been more pleased! My friend had lobster and loved it! She also was happy with... More

Took Casco Bay Line boat from Portland, ME thru Casco Bay to Cooks. Two hour trip of beautiful New England coast. Second time to Cooks and the lobster is the freshest you'll find. I had the 1.5 # for $25.00, my wife had a 1 1/4# lobster for $19.00. Don't forget the blueberry pie. When you go to a lobster... More

We hadn't been here in two years. Decided to meet some friends there for supper. The service was great, prices were good, and MOST of the food was top shelf. My wife got a lobster casserole ($25) that came with no sides. There were only three very small pieces of meat from the small part of the pincher claw and... More
