Sad experience

The place was almost empty, the waiter was nice but the food was overpriced and not good. I wanted lobster thermador, the menu says don't see ask us we will make it, they said they could do Lobster Newburg (for $40) so I said great! It was separated cream from way to much oil and a few chunks of... read more

Off the beaten path and well-worth it!! Great fresh Maine seafood, not just lobster. Lots of parking in a quaint restaurant. Best seafood place in the area!

I have been coming to Cooks for many years, in season and off season. As we arrived for lunch today (just after 12noon), we were the only people in the restaurant. Even then, it took 10 minutes from our order for me to get my chowder. As lunch got a bit busier, our server was even more absent. It took... More

The "famous" cole slaw was gray; my fish tacos were cold and the beer was good. Skip this overpriced, tourist trap.

The Lobster Casserole has changed. Mine arrived warm, not hot. The white sauce was weird, there was very little lobster and more mushrooms. Previously, there were two sizes, now there is only one size and at $25.00, I expected a lot more. Our waiter noticed that I hadn't eaten very much and I told him what I didn't like about... More

If you are looking for a place to get a lobster roll, here it is. Classic decor, nice folks, can see the water from all the windows. Loved it.

We were out with the kids today and stopped by cooks for a late lunch/early dinner. Having been here so many times over the past 40 years, I would have to call this visit sad. I regretted spending money here, for the deplorable food. Today was the first time I have experienced vegetarian lobster casserole - or at least that... More

We had dinner at Cook's December 27 and it was terrible. We had called to make a reservation for a group of eight people, but it was not necessary. There were only 4 other tables occupied in the restaurant. We were seated in 2 adjoining booths because they did not have a table that would seat 8. Conversation across the... More
