It was a beautiful day to drive to the coast for a little seafood dinner! Unfortunately we stopped at the wrong restaurant. The clam chowder was mostly potatoes, the scallops were too salty, and the lobster roll was mostly bread with very little lobster meat. The menu claims that there is almost a whole lobster in every roll, but the... More

The WORST ever lobster casserole--it was a tasteless glop that resembled gravy more than anything. It contained no discernible lobster (I found what I believe to be a couple pieces mushroom in mine). Three out of four of us had this entree and we're very underwhelmed. The fourth member of our party ordered steak medium and it arrived rare, and... More

this was our 8th or so visit and other than agreeing that it seems to be resting on its previous accolades . it seems that reading the bad reviews it amazes me that management hasn't responded and fixed the issues and made changes before the historic place is history. the bad reviews are all the same. potatoes are old .chowder/stew... Horrible service, in fact no service. We attempted to have lunch at Cook's. First we were told to wait for a table, then told to sit anywhere. We sat outside and waited and waited and waited. Finally, I asked if someone would serve us. After a pretty snippy answer we decided to take our money elsewhere.

For years we've brought friends and family from around the world to Cook's for dinner. My personal favorite was there Lobster Casserole. Unfortunately a visit to Cook's this was was a shock and huge disappointment. Prior to the tour boats stooping at Cook's you could order a "lighter" portion of their Lobster Casserole. The price was reasonable - about $15.00.... More

Had dinner with family. Service was slow, view was great, food was average sums it up. Ordered the broiled haddock which was ok but nothing to rave about. The baked potato (several in my party had one) were cold and seemed like they were prepared that morning. Service was slow- appeared they were short staffed and the place wasn't that... More

Maybe you've seen Cook's on the Visa commercial from a few years back. That's what brought us here. The food was pretty good. The service, while friendly, was a bit slow; but it could have been the demanding customers at the next table that caused that.

We were on the Cisco Bay cruise from Portland and had lunch at Cook's Lobster House. We both had Bloody Mary's, which were so good. I had the fried oyster special, to die for, if you're an oyster eater. My friend had the haddock fish tacos and enjoyed it. The blueberry pie was amazing and delicious. We met nice people,... More

I have been going to Cooks for the better part of the last 25 years. My family owns property in DownEast Maine and every year during our visit to the cabin, we make a stop at Cooks to recharge the batteries after the long drive from Florida. When I first went to Cooks it was the best part of the... More

What a great drive out island hopping. Some serious coastal Maine beauty. The layout is nice but a little tired as was our waitress. Really I thought the clams, scallops and haddock were fine but for the price-???? Maybe I just prefer the funky roadside stands. Just not overwhelming.
