We stop at Cook's every year when we're in the area, their lobster has always been good. I know I can always get a great baked stuffed lobster here. It's great to walk around outside after dinner, the location and views are outstanding, it's just such a pretty place. Service has always been great for us.

The outstanding feature of this restaurant is that it is open year round when some of the local lobster shacks are closed. When Anna's or 5 Island is open, you won't see me here. Stick to the boiled lobster and clams. Decor is seaside and hasn't changed probably since it opened. The martini was lovely and despite our waiter being... More

Seven of us came yesterday for a 60th birthday celebration lunch. We had made our reservation for 2:00, but had called that morning to change it to 1. Apparently, the hostess never got the memo, so she attempted to fit us all in a booth, which did not work at all. Had it been not so windy, we would have... More

We took the Bailey Island cruise from Portland on Casco Bay Lines, which docks near Cooks Lobster House for a couple of hours before heading back to Portland; great day on the water. Since it was lunchtime, we decided to eat first and then do a little sightseeing. It was the last Saturday before Labor Day and the restaurant was... More

For a Friday night of Labor Day weekend the restaurant had plenty of tables open. This should have been a sign. The scallop special named "seafood stuffed scallops" Was simply scallops atop some bland and watery stuffing.

Cook's is right on the Bay at the ferry dock just across from the Cribstone Bridge which makes it convenient as well as picturesque. Service was prompt and knowledgeable, food prepared perfectly. My wife had their trifecta special: three lobster tails, I had a 2 pounder. They brought me a somewhat larger lobster but only charged me for what I... More

Went to a lobster bake there August 23,2014 . It was the WORST lobster dinner we have ever had. Overcooked lobster, they were slimy from being cooked in dirty seaweed, steamed clams were also dirty and slimy, no bullion broth served with steamers, something yellow but was not real butter for dipping, blueberry cake that wasn't taken out of the... I have eaten a lot of chowder in a lot of places. There was something about this....sweet, very sweet. I asked. The chowder was made with cremora...they said it extends the shelf life. Ummmm, not good.

Excellent lobster rolls. The blueberry pie was fantastic too. Great view of the harbor. A bit remote but well worth it. We have had dinner here in past years, and thought we'd try it for lunch. Glad we did.

Huge disappointment. The location and the beautiful scenery were so promising, and yet lunch there (Sun, 29 Aug 2014), was not good. Great building, wonderful interior and friendly waitresses. Great menu. But when the food arrived? Well, for what the expectations were for a seaside lobster offering, it was very poor. My wife and son said the lobster itself was... More
