Disappointed in Lobster Casserole

The Lobster Casserole has changed. Mine arrived warm, not hot. The white sauce was weird, there was very little lobster and more mushrooms. Previously, there were two sizes, now there is only one size and at $25.00, I expected a lot more. Our waiter noticed that I hadn't eaten very much and I... read more

If you are looking for a place to get a lobster roll, here it is. Classic decor, nice folks, can see the water from all the windows. Loved it.

We were out with the kids today and stopped by cooks for a late lunch/early dinner. Having been here so many times over the past 40 years, I would have to call this visit sad. I regretted spending money here, for the deplorable food. Today was the first time I have experienced vegetarian lobster casserole - or at least that... More

We had dinner at Cook's December 27 and it was terrible. We had called to make a reservation for a group of eight people, but it was not necessary. There were only 4 other tables occupied in the restaurant. We were seated in 2 adjoining booths because they did not have a table that would seat 8. Conversation across the... More

Everyone we spoke with said we HAD to eat at Cooks, so we did, for lunch. We were the first customers upon opening at 11:30A and chose a seat by the window. Soon, many other patrons joined us. Food was adequate, but not exciting. Large noisy dining room distracted from wonderful setting. Service was okay. Don't need to return, as... More

Came up here in the off season (Early Nov.) for a weekend getaway and stopped by for lunch, with no reservations. The place was empty at 12:30, but by two when we left, there were four other tables full. I was happy to see they had both Allagash White and Dogfish 90 on tap to make both of us smile.... More

Went as part of a New England tour. The food was nice and tasty which is why we went but we were cramped into tables with literally no room to move and the seating wasn't comfortable either. It made for a long night and I was glad to get up and move around. However let's not detract from the food,... More

The lobster stew was so good! We ate there on our honeymoon and it was as good as I remembered! I would recommend it highly!

Cook's Lobster house is located on Bailey's Island, Maine in a beautiful little cove. Its is the quintessential tourist trap restaurant. Don't get me wrong, the food is pretty good, but you are paying way over the dock prices in Maine. As a Mainer, its kind of a shock to see their seafood charges when most restaurants are 25-35% cheaper.... More
