Truly a hot spot on Bailey Island. Amazing fresh seafood. Great prices and best of all friendly wait staff. Can’t wait to see what they have in store with the new addition. I highly recommend Heather’s home made Blueberry pies.

We always walk over the Cribstone Brigde to the Giant Stairs for breakfast. Breakfast is affordable and delish! Very down home and nice atmosphere. Dinner is a little expensive, but on the islands things just cost more.

When my husband and I visit Bailey Island we always eat at the Giant Staircase Cafe. Everything we ever had was super fresh. The lobsters and lobster rolls are fabulous and a great deal. The clams and mussels are succulent. The desserts, especially the pies, are big and yummy. The service is friendly. The atmosphere is Maine, the "real thing",... More

You can really tell if a place is good by the number of locals who frequent it. This is that kind of place. Although many vacationers discover it and keep coming back, too. Come in for a huge breakfast (blueberry pancakes or steak and eggs with the best fried potatoes you will ever eat)....and enjoy it on the screened porch... More

If you didn't save room take the raspberry or blueberry pie to go. I rent cottages in the area and send all my visitors to the Giant Stairs to eat great food with the locals. If you must have a view, get your meal to go, and enjoy it at the beach or on one of Harpswell's great hiking trails.... More

Wow to Kathleen our wonderful server whose dad brings in the fresh lobster off his boat that fills the lobster rolls! Our family has been going to the area since the 1960's and we got this spot refered to us by a local. We were told it was the best food ever and although there isn't a view from the... More

Reasonably priced, BYOB (the store next door will sell you what you need), super friendly people, tasty cooking, zero attitude, what more do you need? We ate here repeatedly during our four night stay in Harpswell, which is a high compliment from us.

We have had a home on Bailey Island for more than 30 years, and Giant Stairs is the place we look forward to going back to every time. Had a great breakfast this morning and a great dinner tonight. The owner's catch their own lobsters and know how to cook them. Best fish chowder on the island as well. Besides... More

Had breakfast one day, very tasty and filling, dinner another day. The lobster dinner I had was a great price and was very good. My husband can't even remember what he had for dinner but thought it was just OK. Service for breakfast was excellent, not so for dinner, they were short staffed. The ambiance is lacking. My recommendation, go... More
