Short trail with stunning views

This is a great little hike on a short trail (less than 1 mile) along an east-facing rocky shoreline on Bailey's island in Harpswell. Park at the brown Church and walk to the end of the road. Watch for poison ivy on the edges of the trail. The actual Giant Stairs are halfway down the trail... read more

I have been a patron for the past several years and have become increasingly disappointed in this restaurant. Today, unfortunately, was the final straw and I am done giving Giant Stairs chances. We came in on a Thursday afternoon with the intention of ordering steamed lobsters. We were given the lunch menu and the first thing written is a disclaimer... More

Haddock soup excellent, one of the best fish soups I've ever had. Limited lunch menu. Good prices. Simple clean atmosphere.

My wife and I ate here last this past August and August of 2013. Each time we've eaten here the service is great only to be surpassed by the food..simply just good food. If you're on Baileys Island you need to stop here for breakfast.

We popped in for a late breakfast. I had the blueberry pancakes and they were amazing. Waitress was friendly and the service was a casual pace; but I wouldn't say it was slow. Would return again in a heartbeat.

The breakfast bacon was paper thin, like the pre-cooked stuff I've seen at restaurant supply stores (ie: Sam's Club). It is awful. The sausage was overcooked. Eggs were perfect. Homefries were tasteless.

Giant Stairs is near the cabin we rent annually. We visited again for the fried whole-belly clams followed with chocolate cream pie and peanut butter cake. We were not disappointed-excellent, informal dining, friendly wait staff.

Since last summer, we have visited at different times of the year, and had different meals.(breakfast, lunch and dinners)...eat-in and take -out as well. All have been quite good, reasonably priced, friendly help and served in timely fashion. Thus, we recommend and will be back again!

Stopped in after visiting actual The Giant's Stairs and wanted local. My friend and I shared a cheeseburger, a visiting friend from Ohio ordered the lobster roll and another friend visiting from Connecticut ordered a BLT. Our cheeseburger was plenty for sharing as well as the sweet potato fries which accompanied it. The lobster roll was mixed with a fair... More

My husband and I enjoyed eating at this restaurant 2 or 3 times during the week we were there, the food is delicious, I usually had a chicken dish and my husband seafood. All very good. Stopped in for blueberry pancakes at least one time during the week. They have a nice selection on the menu and are accommodating to... More
