A Roadhouse outside of New Orleans

Not worth the hype - CRAB SALAD Heavy on the vinegar and light on the crab BREAD Excellent, served hot and fresh SPAGHETTI MEATBALLS Mediocre, nothing special MOSCA'S SHRIMP Very good but had better in the quarter for less and they charge close to 40 bucks for a lousy 10 shrimp

This is a restaurant that has Sicilian roots. My grand parents ,from Sicily, and my parents took me there years ago. The meals are some of Sicily but with lots of local flavor. The Oysters and Shrimp Mosca are to die for. The gravies and sauces are the best I have eaten. There is a Chicken Grande cooked with herbs... More

Can't believe the poor reviews. Always been a must stop when we visit New Orleans! Sometimes we've came just for Mosca's! Excellent food and great old time feel.

Take a step back in time at Moscas. Located just outside New Orleans, this place has the authentic feel of old Italy. Located in an unassuming building on the side of the highway. Inside still keeps cool with window unit air conditioner. Besides all of the non-traditional modern amenities, the food and experience in Moscas is top notch. Ask the... More

As my title states "Ultimate Favorite" The food, the atmosphere and the service is over the top. I love the oyster mosca and shrimp mosca. The cheese cake that has a slight lemon flavor is so good. I also get the spaghetti with one meat ball. It is always good to have a little left over for the next day.... More

I've been hearing about Mosca's for decades and always intended to get out there. We know what really excellent Italian food tastes like---we've been to the Italian restaurants in and around Krebs OK for our entire lives. Ordered several things---salad, Oysters Mosca, spaghetti, Chicken a la grande. The oysters were VERY burned. Chicken had some singe, as well. I never... More

We are frequent visitors to Mosca's. The food is great. Don't drive away after you see the building when you pull up though! You will regret it. Food: The food is great. You should go with 5-6 people and get a few entrees. They are served family style anyway. The crabmeat salad (large) gives 6 enough for a bowl each.... More

Dined here with 10 people. Ordered two salads, one of each chicken entree, sausage, one shrimp dish and two Oysters Mosca. Each fed 3-4 people. Perfect. All dishes were very good, but Oysters Mosca was the best. Wine was served at the bar in a warm cocktail glass with no explanation. Kind of weird? Staff friendly. Had a nice, long... More

While it is several miles from town, the food here is still as special as I remember from my childhood. The ambiance is lacking, however, and the place is extremely noisy due to lots of large groups. The had the crab Italian salad, Oysters Mosca, Chicken a la Grande, a side of pasta, and pineapple fluff for dessert. The food... More

The location's humble exterior does not reflect the food quality. The place is a family style restaurant with very good food. The oysters Mosca were the reason I went and I was not disappointed. My pasta side was rustic and full of flavor. I was very happy I made the trip.
