This place is amazing! For more than 60 years they have been serving family style dishes such as Spaghetti and Meatballs and Chicken Cacciatore. When you go you HAVE to order the Oysters Mosca, it is un-believable! We always go with a large group, and take turns on which couple get to take the left-overs! The ONLY thing better than... More

Our party shared several dishes, including the signature "Oysters Mosca" which lived up to its good reputation. But two other renowned dishes, Chicken Grande and Chicken Cacciatore, were undistinguished, consisting of unrecognizable parts of chicken in a heavy tomato-based sauce that overwhelmed any inherent flavor with garlic - way too much garlic! Added to that, the meat in both of... More

Everytime I think of Mosca's I can smell garlic and I have an overwhelming desire to drive the 80 something miles there just for dinner. This is the best, rustic Italian food I have had. All the dishes are served family style which is good because you can have one of everything. I love the crab salad! Ice cold iceberg... More

I lived in New Orleans between 1959 and 1969... my wife's a native. We had been going to Mosca's frequently in those years, and in visits since. Frankly, Mosca's has declined into betrayal and a disgrace. A betrayal of the parents who created and maintained the highest quality Creole and Italian cuisine in the New Orleans area, probably nation-wide. A... More

Living 40 years in New Orleans and 10 in Baton Rouge certainly gives one the opportunity to sample many great restaurants. A recent re-visit shows the same cook/manager/owner now helped by her daughter (owner of a master's degree) and unchanged quality of food. I still think it's the best barbecue shrimp I've ever eaten, and of course oyster's Mosca (?just... More

A New Orleans institution and well deserved. Great food, casual friendly atmosphere and good wine selection. The crab salad, oysters Mosca and chicken a la grande were wonderful. The sausages were really good as well. We ate family style and everyone left full..:-)

The drive out wasn't as long as I remembered and the food was worth the trip! We had crab salad, oysters Mosca, chicken cacciatore, chicken a la grande & Mosca's sausage. Pineapple fluff for dessert. It was all good! Will bring my Mom next time! Soon!!

Restaurant was fully reserved but they made accommodations for our party of four. Restaurant was recommended to us and we were recommended to have the No. 1 family style dinner which was not listed on the menu. It consisted of salad, we chose the crabmeat salad, Oysters Mosca, Chicken a La Grange, Shrimp Mosca and a side of pasta Bordelaise.... More

11 of us ate here the day after thanksgiving. Always a favorite for us and the locals. In fact, we ran into Harry Connick Jr on our way out. Very good REAL Italian. Everything is family style. The shrimp Mosca's and Oyster Mosca's very devoured quickly. No need to get dressed up. A very casual family place. The staff also... More
