My wife use to love this place before they moved but was never sure where they went. We just visited and will be back. The food was tasty and served promptly. The drinks were good and service courteous.

The staff is always very pleasant, which is one of the reasons we go back. The food runs from good to great. It's not as consistent as I would like, but I've never had a bad meal. Just some better than others. Nice lunch specials - half poboy with soup/gumbo. Be sure to sign up to receive offers on you... More

Before Hurricane Katrina this was a very desirable restaurant. They were destroyed as they were located on Lake Pontchatrain in Slidell. Once they reopened on Hwy. 190 they have never really returned to why, what, where, when, or who they once were.

We stayed the night in Slidell on the way home from Nashville. We looked for a local restaraunt to try and ended up at Vera's. We ordered a seafood platter to share. It had fried shrimp, oysters, fish, stuffed crab, stuffed shrimp, and we ordered hush puppies to go with it. Everything on the plate was delicious. The ambiance and... More

This restaurant was recommended by our campground hostess. It is approximately 3.3 miles west of I-10 on Gause Blvd. W. on right side of the road. I ordered the $12.95 lobster special. You get a 1 1/4 pound lobster cooked in a salty/spicy boil (I guess like they do the crawfish in), a side salad and a choice of side.... More

We were looking for good shrimp po-boys and a friend recommended Vera's .. So we gave it a try and loved it. The shrimp were freshly cooked and hot , the bread was good. We will be back to try some other things on the menu!

This is the best seafood restaurant on the Northshore!! The seafood platters are always fried when you place your order, never ahead of time. Love the oysters on the half shell and other boiled seafood. Their gumbo is delicious and great Poboys are always available. Cold mugs of beer go perfectly with our seafood. I have never been disappointed at... More

A very good seafood restaurant located near the mall. The fried seafood was good and fresh. Vera's was located on Lake Ponchatrian before Katrina hit. Prices are reasonable.

We stopped here after a Mardi Gras parade in Slidell and were not let down. The stuffed crabs were huge and amongst the best we've had. The po boy was also gigantic (almost too large to eat). Driving by at night the place looked so dark from outside; don't be fooled - the restaurant is large and well lit. The... More

We have enjoyed this restaurant over the years, but our visit this year left us wanting. What happened to the quality of the food? Service was adequate, but the food was a disappointment. The soft shell crab platter which my wife and I both had was small, over-breaded and greasy. The portion was smaller than before, but the price did... More
