Great Dinner

Our family enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Camellia Cafe on our way to NOLA. I have ate at this establishment many times over the past five years, but this was the first for my wife and kids. They loved the fried shrimp dinners with the baked macaroni and the mashed potatoes with gravy. The staff... read more

While traveling we stopped in Slidell looking for local food. We happened upon Camellia Cafe bc of a wrong turn. It looks very local and not really that attractive on the outside. But inside it's very quirky! We were here at supper and each had a burger and grilled chicken burger with "frips" (homemade potato chips) for $5 each! They... More

We were looking for real southern food and we stumbled upon this place. Excellent food! My husband had the Po Boy Catfish sandwich and I had BLT. Ok, the BLT isn't typical southern, I admit it, but it was great none the less. I had a taste of my husband's catfish, and although I am not a huge fan of... More

Had a great dinner while traveling . Waitress at another good restaurant recommended this place. We asked where, locally we could find a good poor boy sandwich and this is the place she sent us. My seafood pasta dish was to die for. A little pricey but worth it. Waitress was very nice too. From the looks from the outside,... More

I have been to Camellia's two times now. Both times I had good food and great service. This last visit I had the Seafood Gumbo and a Chef Salad. Some of the rice in the gumbo was under cooked so I exchanged it for the Craw-fish Etouffe, which was delicious. The salad was excellent. Both time the service was excellent.

Food is great. Was a little expensive but very good. Bread pudding is awesome! Will definitely go back.

Can't review the food because we never got to see the menu but the service was terrible. We were told to sit anywhere & no one ever came. 5 minutes later other customers came in and were greeted with a straw & menu. I won't be returning.

This is the fourth time in 5 years that I have dined at this café and it did not disappoint. My wife and I had the Crawfish Etouffe and split a shrimp Poboy. The first time I visited this place I had the Crawfish Ettouffe and it was a first time experience, one never to be forgotten it was so... More

I found the food ok, but the prices are high. Red beans and rice $9.95 is a rip off. The beans were nothing to write home about. There are too many other places at eat in Slidell that are far cheaper and better
