I eat here at least once a week, only place around for really good vegetables. Usually good service at a great price. I'll keep going back. But I can't understand why they don't clean the place up. If I was a first time visitor, I'd turn away at the door, the place looks like it's run down and poorly maintained.... More

I've been working in Shreveport for the past 8 months. We hit the Southfield Grill for lunch on a regular basis. It's pretty good homestyle cooking. But you have to go on a Tuesday if you love Fried Chicken. The special is a full breast of chicken, not just one half, with three sides and a roll for a total... More

Great vegies: speckled butter beans, black eyed peas, green beans! Hot water cornbread. Steak tips in gravy over mashed potatoes. You'll see 3-4 generations dining & laughing together.

I really like Southfield grill. The service can be iffy at times, but the food is generally great. The atmosphere is very homie and inviting. You can sit wherever you like, which is convenient. Overall great place to go.

This place was recommended by someone in a neighborhood where I was working. We hunted it down and had lunch. Glad we did! This is a little local establishment with home cooked blue plate specials. Lunch is a meat and three sides for $8.29 plus $1.29 for tea. Very reasonably in my opinion. The food was served up very quickly... More

In town on business, this place was recommended to me as I was looking for something outside of the usual chain restaurant. I was told that the food was sooo good. I ordered the smothered pork chops, mashed potatoes, mac n cheese and butter beans and a sweet tea. The tea was very sweet, but that's how i like mine.... More

After 5PM on weekdays Southfield has hot water cornbread almost as good as Mama's usually. For those of you not from the south you might not like it but you must try it with your home style veggies and entrees. I love it!

Went here for breakfast and it was great. The waitress was friendly and the coffee hot. This is a good basic place to get a good breakfast

This place does a ton a business and I heard a lot about it through word of mouth, but I can't see what the big to do is. It's a busy diner with mediocre food, and a rushed feel to it, typical of a restuarant in a major city. Not for me.
