Great local lunch spot

We have eaten at Jacqueline's Cafe for years. Eat there 2-3 times a year. As a yankee growing up up eating New England Clam Chowder, I feel qualified to give theirs a critique. It is delicious! Plenty of clams, flavorful creamy broth. Have had very few "gritty" feeling bites of clam, which ruins a... read more

I went with a local, and had the BEST clam chowder in my life and I was just on the East Coast. I wanted a taste of everything, had a crab sandwich as well. Wanted to try everything. They are only open for lunch, you order at counter and they bring to your table. Pretty basic, not frills but great... More

The food is decent. It's not fine dining, but it's okay. Out of the way if you don't know where it is.

North LA vs South LA - I had no clue there was a difference in North vs South Louisiana cooking but I learned this the hard way today. I ordered the Shrimp etouffe, which is one of my favorite dishes. What I received was anything but an etouffe. It looked and tasted more like a very bad shrimp chowder. This... More

This is such a cute and quaint lunch spot that not many just come across. It is only open for lunch but it is well worth making a trip for. They have the best chicken salad and Jambalaya ever. The roux they use for the jambalaya is so dark you actually think it is burnt the first time you get... More

Had the Turkey and Spinach Salad, and a slice of the German Chocolate Pie for lunch. Prices, service, atmosphere, and food are all awesome! Can't wait to go back there again!!

Lunch only. Just off I-20 so easy travel stop. Try the shrimp salad, the jambalaya and the almond Jacque pie! Consistently great.

My favorite local place. The absolute best shrimp salad and shrimp étouffée. Everything here is good! It is always hard to choose between the Almond Jac pie and the German chocolate pie. Take a friend and split the desserts.
