This is a favorite dining place for my son and his family. We have had many birthday celebrations here. Portions are large! I personally enjoy the poboys. My husband loves the shrimp cheese toast appetizer. It is sufficient for his meal.

Monjuni's is great if you're after the 1960's sort of middle-brow, mid-Western take on Italian. It's not bad, it's just not that great--though it is good, solid comfort food if you want a dependable version of that sort of take on Italian.
Case in point: my last visit there was for the lasagna, which some older relatives had raved about....

We just ate here for lunch and got lunch specials. The food (Beef Lasagna and Spaghetti w meatball) was great and it came fast. I'm a little bummed the server didn't share the lunch special w us.
Monjunis offers a different take on their sauces. If you like the sweet red sauce this would be great for you. I like a little more italian kick in my food. The original Monjuni's on Louisiana Blvd is probably the better of them all but all the food is about the same. The original seems to have more of an...

We have been away from Shreveport (my home town) for a few years and made sure that we went back to one of our favorite restaurants. While the sauce may be a little too sweet for some folks out there for me it is wonderful. The atmosphere he is great, the food some of the absolute best around and the...

I have had almost everything on the menu and never been disappointed. The muffulettas are one of my favorites. The salads are big enough for 2. The best part is you can take home a bottle of their sweet sauce.
Every time I come to Shreveport, Me and my wife go to Monjunis for a muffaletta sandwich. I think it is the best I have had while visiting Shreveport. I have had other dishes at Monjunis as well and the all food is very good. I would definately reccomend this restaurant.
If you love Italian food and enjoy finding those intimate, homey local places...don't miss Monjuni's Original location on Louisiana Avenue. Uniquely cozy, a good house chianti, and hot crispy bread with red sauce that you just can't get enough of. Extra good Italian salad and a veggie option is available on the muffaletta.
This is THE place to go for italian food in Shreveport. There are other locations, but the original Monjunis is the best. The food is great and the service is good. During nice weather, there is plenty of room on the patio.
Definitely try the veal pamasiana, otherwise it's highly overpriced, although they do serve you enough for a few meals.
