It has been some time since I have dined here, but it has for many years been a go-to spot in Shreveport. While the crab claws and cocktails were good, the entrees were not. I had the crab au gratin, which I previously loved and devoured, but this time they did not serve anything similar to the high quality dish... More

Celebrated our 39th anniversary here tonight. Had not been in 30 years and my wife had never been. Why did I wait so long? They are famous for their marinated crab claws and with good reason...they are delicious. Had the best ribeye that I have ever had, mine included and I have been cooking them myself for 40 years or... More

One could describe Ernest as- kind of funky eccentric, while serving excellent crab claws in the bar-- the bar is well stocked, and their Wednesday bar menu is great all appetizers are 1/2 price. Food is normally always good, my trout almondine last time was a little dry. Oft times if you opt to sit intone bar, the music gets... More

This was my second visit to Ernests and I was determined to bring a friend to verify what I experienced the first time. This is truly a one of kind place. Its appearance and ambiance is dated but clean and maintained. The staff is well dressed and makes a strong attempt at ultra high end service and food. You have... More

Ernest's is one of my favorite restaurants anywhere. The minute you walk in the door, you are made to feel like a special guest. All the hosts, waiters, and bartenders treat you with the greatest respect and dignity, but with friendly, personable smiles, as if you are their only guest for the evening. I first ate dinner at Ernest's as... More

Some friends got together and decided we would give the Ernest's Happy Hour a try....It was great... They accommodated us without reservations. Some of us were dressed very casual (shorts & flip flops) and we were treated as royalty as we had all been waterskiing earlier in the day. The waiter was awesome. He knew a lot of history about... My husband and I tried Ernest's for the first time by just looking up seafood resturaunt s near our hotel and Wow! He had a crab dish with artichokes . We lucked out with a great meal and wonderful service. Very impressive but also made to feel very welcome and comfortable.

Review is way overdue, as we ate there four years ago, and had excellent meal. Truthfully, it's been so long ago that I can't recall what we ordered, but I do recall that I had a Cajun or Creole fish dish and my wife undoubtedly had a steak (she almost always does), and I remember telling our host that this... I had had the privilege of eating some food that Ernest had catered at a private function in my hometown a couple of years ago and it was amazing. I had never dined at the actual restaurant until now. We were seated and poured water. 15 minutes later I asked to see a waiter. How can you be confused over... More

For one of Shreveport's oldest restaurants, Earnest's has not only maintained its high food standards but continues to please. For years Earnest's is THE place to go for marinated or fried crab claws! Amazing. If you are looking for a low key or romantic dinner that won't disappoint this is a sure bet.
