Chip Durand's little gem has the best steaks & crab cakes in the area. The present restaurant is tiny, so make reservations & be prepared to wait. However, Chip is in process of renovating the Old Talley Ice House, on the banks of the Bayou Teche, so it is sure to be more spacious & allow for private dining or... More

You know the food is good when the restaurant is covered up with locals every day. Be sure to make a reservation and don't expect anything fancy or pretentious. Just honest, well-prepared South Louisiana cuisine served by a family that truly cares about quality and service.

Been going here for several years and always a great experience. Crab cakes are tops and steaks are too. Very popular so make a reservation!

The steaks are amazing and the crabcakes are LITERALLY the best thing on Earth. Shout out to Grayling Thibodeaux; head chef and brains behind the world famous St. JOHN'S BREAD PUDDING

We went several weeks prior to our most recent visit and I wrote a scathing review. We returned to give it another try and it was a much better experience. Instead of going at 7:00, we went at 6:00 and this time they honored our reservation on time exactly. I ordered the crab cakes which I read was the best... More

Love this little gem, although I do understand that they are moving around the corner to expand in size next month. The crab cakes are the bomb, no bread filler. Classic old school presentation, but why mess with greatness.

Everything I've ever had there was great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My favorites are the Tilapia Ponchatrain, Fried Alligator, and of course the Crab Cakes (Best anywhere). Restaurant is very clean with a friendly atmosphere. A must when visiting St. Martinville.

Had a reservation for 7:00 and didn't get seated until 7:50!! Would have left at 7:30 but to drive anywhere else and wait would have taken longer! I had the crab platter, bad choice... Gumbo was good but no crab in the étouffée, mostly moist bread in the stuffed crab, only 5 crab fingers (the augratin was decent). My husband had... More

Our group of about 14 women made reservations for the second time to eat here. Steaks, seafood - especially crab cakes are crisp, fresh , and delicious. Spoke to Chip Durand the owner and in August they will be moving to a larger place just around the corner. The current restaurant seats 48, and the front room of new place... More
