have eaten at this restaurant three times and am still very disappointed! Growing up in LA, there are better options for fried seafood in gonzales and prairieville. Today my shrimp poboy was VERY soggy and tasted like a mayonnaise sandwich. The shrimp batter was so soggy it stuck to my mouth along with the mayo and bread. Also, I ordered... More

They had some growing pains when they first opened and has poor consistency. However, they have come thru that with flying colors and now we eat there every week and have excellent service and great food.

My wife and I were traveling in SE Louisiana, and we always ask for suggestions on local restaurants. We were referred to Galvez Seafood a couple miles away, so figured it must be worth the person's drive. My wife ordered the Shrimp and Catfish combo. Both were fried to perfection with a batter that was light and complemented the fish... More

This restaurant is needed in Prairieville. It is hard for restaurants to make it in this area for some reason. People are used to driving to Baton Rouge for good food. I have eaten there about 10 times. Dining in has always been good. The boiled crawfish are EXCELLENT. My only complaint is that the 2 times I have called... More

We visited Galvez Seafood for dinner. The restaurant is comfortable with mostly table seating. We started out with the chargrilled oysters which were very tasty. I had the broiled shrimp. They were served with a plate full of fries. My friend had fried crawfish and broiled shrimp. Both of our selections were fresh, made to order and tasty. Entrees are... More

Since this is so close I take the family often at least once a month. Overall the menu food is above average, service is sometimes slow, but the atmosphere is relaxing and enjoyable. The staff is always pleasant. A plus is they offer coupons to the area students for free meals for Honor roll.

Sat. afternoon visit was fairly busy, waitstaff did a fine job with our party of nine. I had a grilled Tilapia entree which was pretty good, but the 4 lbs of crawfish I shared was the best. The only dissatisfied diner in the group had the Highway 42 special? Our beer was cold, the food was hot, our waitress Jordyn... More

My boyfriend was desperately craving a shrimp poboy, and this place was close to his house. We'd passed by it before and always wanted to try it, so we decided to go in right before closing to get some food to go. The decorations were great, just what you'd expect from a seafood restaurant. They actually had a small fresh... More

We went on a Wednesday night which was apparently all-you-can-eat-crawfish night (you may want to keep that in mind if a constant orchestra of slurping and sucking grosses you out). We were impressed with the guy singing, and the colors chosen for the interior, but not so much with the food. My BF and I ordered the 1/2 & 1/2... More

Has only been open a month or two. Typical southern Louisiana seafood with emphasis on plates of fried food and poboys. Wife had fried catfish and I had fried shrimp. Seemed a little skimpy on the food, but others who've eaten there said they had hearty servings. Service a little slow. Fresh seafood marked to soon open next door.
