Was here to celebrate a friend's birthday and was not disappointed with the quality of the food nor the service. It is known for it's long standing in the city.

This place has always had top notch food for reasonable places. Very quiet for lunch and busy at dinner time. Very good steaks and seafood.

I was in town on business this past weekend and came to eat at Souileau's for dinner. The desk attendant at the hotel I stayed at recommended this restaurant. The food was excellent. I had the seafood gumbo which was the best I have had. The service was also outstanding.

My wife and I were day tripping, driving around aimlessly. We wound up in Opelousas and I wanted some old fashion rustic Cajun food. Being born and raised here I should know what that is. Granted we got there around 3:30 so knew it was in-between times but the place was dead. Our server was very nice and friendly, we... More

We ate at this restaurant twice while visiting in the area, for dinner and for a lunch. Both times we were with a larger group (6 for dinner, about 15 for lunch). They did not seem to be very busy either time, but the service was quite slow. I found the food to be good, but not as tasty as... More

Entered this restaurant about 1:30 for a late lunch. I was greeted by a young hostess sitting a chair behind the stand who did not bother to get up to escort me to a table. She instructed me to sit anywhere.. This turned out to be quite the challenge. While most tables were empty as I approached them one after... More

OMG - Yes I will be back - if only to take a photo to post. But I'll come back with bells on for the food. This place knows Louisiana food and how to serve their customers. Don't rush, take some time and visit with each other at Soileau's Dinner Club. My steak was delicious, perfectly prepared. OMG, makes my... More

During our ten days in Louisiana, our dinner at Soileau's stands out as our one truly awful meal. Two of us ordered the crawfish dinner. It included a boulette that was totally dry and tasteless and a crawfish and crab casserole that was hardly any better. This food tasted as if it had been sitting around for a long time... More

Delicious salad. Large bowl of gumbo, shrimp a little mushier than I'd like. Would have ordered the chicken and sausage gumbo, but no choice between white and dark meet. Maybe would have ordered the fish, shrimp, crab and oyster gumbo, but could not substitute for the oysters, which I do not eat. They would have simply omitted the oysters. I... More
