If you aren't into ANY fast food at all and are seeking another place to go in Opelousas, here is a great gem. They have delicious lunch specials and I've never had a bad meal here. Gumbo is great, fried shrimp are seasoned perfectly, and the stuffed potatoes are wonderful.

Have eaten @ Soileau's many times over the past 15 years, and it is ALWAYS good, sometimes even great. This is NOT "fast food" so, don't think you're going to "get in and out" in 15-25 minutes!

Their food, specifically the SOUR STUFFED POTATOES gave me & my whole famly DIARRHEA!! I know for a fact this happened because of those potatoes because we all ordered the exact same thing! They leave these potatoes out all day and are not fresh at all! This was a horrible experience and when we reported this to the owner's son... More

Soileau's Dinner Club has been serving good Cajun food in Opelousas for well over 50 years. The servers are always pleasant and many of them have been there for decades, so the managers must be good people to work for, and the servers convey that good will to their customers. On our recent visit, my wife and I and our... More

The building and interior don't offer you any ambiance at all, unfortunately. However, since it was recommended, we stayed. The food was very very good and the portions were beyond generous. They make a very good shrimp gumbo and the fried oysters were delicious. The fried shrimp were just average. The food might bring me back, but I found the... More

The restaurant is floored with terrazzo and has plastic table cloths. The utensils are cheap and come in wax paper envelopes BUT the food is unbeatable. It is fun to sample the ambiance of the area while eating in a small town. I ordered a hamburger patty for something light - wrong - it was like a pound of meat... More

First off, let me say our server made us feel like we were sitting in her dining room at home! That was awesome. Menu choices are good and the food is a good representation of what you expect with Cajun cuisine. Broths were tangy and thick. Seaford was abundant and flavorful. Prices were decent. Good lunch specials as well. Definitely... More

This restaurant has been around forever for good reason. The food is very good, typical for a good Cajun restaurant. The area where the restaurant has kind of gone down as years have gone by but it is still on HWY 182 so easy to get to. The people are always very nice and service is very good.

I've going to this restaurant for as long as I can remember!!! I had not been in a while and was pleasantly surprised to see the food was still as good as it has always been. They still have the best shrimp creole and fried catfish in Opelousas!

Have been here several times, and have never left disappointed in the food. Staff is attentive to your needs. Moderately priced. Fried seafood is delicious. Has been around a long time.
