First trip to NOLA. I love oysters. The family loves poboys. We enjoy local beers. Casual dining is our sweet spot. We never made it to Acme in the French Quarter pre-cruise, so I made sure to stop here post-cruise as we were staying nearby. We went for lunch, enjoyed the raw and chargrilled oysters, then returned for a dinner... More

While the entrees on the menu are very good, the absolute highlight is the chargrilled oysters. Location is very convenient off Causeway at Veterans Blvd.

We stopped in while shopping, had a seat at the bar, and ordered oysters and a beer. The bartender was very nice and friendly. The oysters were fresh and the charbroiled were really good. Beers were well-priced. The atmosphere was comfortable. Good experience.

My dining experience at Acme Oyster & Seafood House made me think of Cher's song, Turn Back Time. What made it so great you ask? Excellent customer service from our Server, Scott and the food was delish. Customer service is still alive at Acme. The visit to Acme was planned well in advance, once I learned I would need to... The only dish that I can really say I enjoyed were the chair broiled oysters. Most of their dishes are fried. Not a big fan. Service on the other hand, was excellent!!

The oysters, red beans & rice, fried crawfish, and boiled shrimp were all excellent. We will definitely go back when we are in the area.

The food and service were very good, even though it was a very busy night. However, the dinner portion size for the price was poor. First the shrimp gumbo and shrimp were excellent tasting, but my platter meal was serviced on a coffee cup saucer size plate. I didn't expect a dinner platter of food to be served on a... More

Cheap Oysters either raw or charbroiled are the main draw for Families and College Students. It has a Sports Bar vibe. The Local Oysters are excellent. Their signature half-shrimp half-oyster Peacemaker Po-Boy is only as good as its #4 ranking in a town full of options. The Seafood Gumbo and Etouffee were underwhelming. The Hamburger Steak was surprisingly well received.... More

Don't go to the Acme on Iberville Street in downtown New Orleans!!! We drove past and the line was out the door and around the corner. Disappointed, we drove over to this other location on Veterans Blvd. ad boy was that a good move! We only had to wait 15 minutes (and got to wait indoors out of the cold)... More

We ended up here for dinner on our last night of a short visit to the area. There wasn't anyone in our party interested in oysters so no idea how those are. I had the 10 Napkin roast beef po'boy. Basically it was potroast gravy and bread. Sort of a let down. My son had the 1/2 and 1/2 platter... More
