A friend suggested we stop for the best benoit's and she was right! What a bargain for three only $1.85 and so hot I couldn't eat it right away. Best ever and can't wait to make a trip back!

This is a great little beignet/coffee shop in Metairie, just far enough away from the French Quarter to give you a sampling of the GNO (greater New Orleans area) without all of the expensive tourist driven business, but close enough to get back into it quickly. My only issue is the lack of vegan milk alternatives. We have a growing... More

This place is a must see! Old as the hills and the decor is classic. Although they serve more than beignets and coffee it is the best! love that we can get these little babies in Metairie!

First time ever visiting New Orleans and was advised to go here by locals. What a pleasant surprise. Though I don't have other samples of beignets to compare these to, they were very light and crunchy! The cafe' au lait was so good I had three cups. The atmosphere is a little "tired" or run down but appears to be... More

Open 24 hours so if you have a late night beignet craving and you don't want to drive to the Quarter, check out Morning Call. Same food and atmosphere in a smaller location. I prefer their coffee.

The beignets here are the only true, authentic New Orleans style beignets in the area. The location at City Park is wonderful, too. Seat yourself and order your café au lait (also made the right way, with hot milk poured from a kettle into the coffee) and an order of three beignets, crispy outside and soft and delightfully chewy inside.... Great local place with a superb breakfast. Great service, with a fine atmosphere. Strong coffee so if you like your coffee black like I do, drink it like a fine scotch, sip and enjoy. If you are like my wife, there is not enough cream to lighten it.

Next time you are in New Orleans and are thinking you must go to Cafe Du Monde, remember Morning Call is where the locals go. Once you have experienced it you will know why. Very accessible, no huge long wait, very pleasant staff and great beignet's. Give it a try.
