Don't be put off by the outside of the building for it belies the meal to be had within. We were eight in number with a variety of tastes. No two of us ordered the same thing. I had a half and half of a shrimp dish and Crawfish Johnnie - the latter was the better of the two. Among... More

This place has great Filet Mignon Steak. Even though it's a bit of a dive, the food is always consistently excellent, the service is always fast and friendly. I love the filet, the stuffed artichokes and the seafood gumbo. In fact, I think that the stuffed artichoke is one of the best I have ever had. There were rumors that... More

My wife and I went for dinner. We had the dipping bread and crawfish Johnnie, both were excellent appetizers. She had the red beans and rice and I had the prime cut 8.5oz filet and crazy potatoes. Both were cooked perfectly and were very good. The steak was tender and flavorful. Dont mistake this place for a fancy steak house... More

A small neighborhood bar and restaurant that has some of the best food around and the price is such a bargain. I eat there often and highly recommend that you try it.

Simply terrific steaks and prime rib. Potatoes are wonderful. Friendly atmosphere and service all at an exceptional value. Hope rumors of closing are false.

We had been visiting this restaurant since the 1980s, mainly for their lunch special - an overstuffed filet mignon poboy with a side of crazy potatoes. Unbelievably inexpensive and out-of-this-world! It had been awhile, at least a year, but we were very disappointed this time. No real butter in the poboy or potatoes - just some kind of bright yellow... More

Based on a recommendation from a "local" we decided to give this place a try. A little off the beaten path but the food was great and the waitress was fantastic. Once we told her we were in a bit of a rush the kitchen did a wonderful job getting the food out to us very quickly. About 15 minutes... More

My husband ate at Crazy Johnnie's in 2001 when he worked in LA for a short while, and he's been talking about his Jumbo Dippin' Shrimp meal ever since! In October 2011 we took a vacation to New Orleans and just had to find this restaurant. Hubby had the Jumbo Shrimp again and it was as good as he remembered.... More

This place is a great dive. There is outdoor seating also. I love the prime rib and my husband enjoyed the filet. The krazy potatoes are pretty good. We also got the dipping bread and that was a mistake, it was gross. But that was fine because I think the dipping bread was only $2.50, but don't get it, it's... More
