Not Your Everyday Deli

Martin's Wine Cellar, a very upscale deli, is loved by locals both for its newly-restored Uptown site and its Metairie location. Martin's wine cellar has a copious menu with plenty of salads and sandwiches. I had "the California" on pita, it was perfect for a healthy lunch. My husband loved his sandwich too. Laid back atmosphere. I gave a 4 out of 5 rating because the customer service could have been better, employees behind the counter were busy chatting, I felt... More

Conference i attended had a special dinner function at this property. Great crab and corn soup and a solid dinner that was set be planners. However their deli case was full of great looking food and desserts. I would have loved being able to sample some of those items, If you are a wine lover there are many wines to... More

Long time wine shop has developed quite a gourmet food section. So pop in for the special bottle of wine and grab a sandwich or hot meal while you're there. Always good!

Our work usually orders from here but this was the first time dining in for me. It gets very busy during the lunch hour and I would give yourself at least a good 15-20 minutes extra to wait in line and to get your food, or call ahead and phone in your order. There is ample seating in the cafe... More

Hubby and I hit the Martin Wine Cellar on Veterans for the first time the other evening and we will not be back. Our "dinner"consisted of one chicken salad sandwich, one turkey sandwich specifically the Californian, a side of kale salad and an order of beef short rib potstickers (4 over-fried wontons each containing a tiny marble-size lump of beef... My husband and I go to Martins at least once a month to buy wine and have lunch and I must say the last two visits for lunch have been disappointing. Recent visit we had the specialty pimento and cheese pizza...not edible. This last visit I ordered a ruben and the bread was so obviously charred (yes it was black)... More

Finishing up with our attorney a little early, we decided to grab a quick lunch. I've been to Martin Wine Cellar in the past, but only to purchase wine or liquor. One side of the business is an informal restaurant specializing in sandwiches and salads. Wine by the glass or bottle is available There is a huge deli display case... More

Martin Wine Cellar has always been a great place to find the lesser imported vintages of good wines and hard to find gourmet items. Many years ago, before they opened this Metairie store they began making baskets and serving food from their deli. This Father's day we decided to break our typical pattern and had them cater a picnic for... More

My wife and I are visiting New Orleans, staying in Metairie and wanted a light meal for dinner between two scheduled dinners at Emeril's and Commander's Palace. From recommendations on Trip Advisor, we went to Martin Wine Cellar, shared their steamboat sandwich and smoked salmon BLT sandwich and each of us had a glass of a French Sauvignon Blanc. The...
