Popular po-boy place

They offer all the standard po-boy fare in the New Orleans area as well as staples like red beans and rice and gumbo. Had the hot sausage and tried the fried shrimp and the roast beef. These were not the worst but they were not the best around either. A lot of locals eat here. I would recommend... read more

This place has the best PoBoys I have ever had. Every time I am in NewOrleans I make a special trip out here for the most mouth watering Roast Beef PoBoy. Even though the line is often out the door at lunchtime they are very fast. Our favorites are Roast Beef with mayo & Swisd, Fried Oyster, & Shrimp.

This is about 7 miles from downtown but always worth the trip. Po Boys are like hamburgers, it's not a matter of if its good but your preference at the time. The roast beef here is like no other, they chop the meats opposed to slices and the flavor and unique bread make it an original, in a town where... More

The best shrimp po boy around! Always busy and a little hectic so be prepared for a possible wait. It will be worth it. Husband gets the oyster and others in our party have gotten the crayfish and meatball poboys. No one was disappointed!

I had to wait for a while to place my order in a place where lines are expected. Except for the fact that the employees taking the orders were playing around and joking amoung themselves. My roast beef po boy was at best ok and I was very disappointed. I normally enjoy going here. They must have had a off... More

As we left my favorite city to eat, we followed the Jefferson Parish oyster trail to this shop. Had the oyster, but roast beef appeared to be the preferred order, and was told by a regular that once you try the BBQ you'll never order anything else.

Thank you for stopping in on your way out of town Janet. We're always happy to see a new face come in the door and a smile leave afterwards! Our roast beef IS the most popular and we recommend you try it next time you come back to Metairie. Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback because... More

Pages and pages are written about food in New Orleans. Most places that tourists hear about and go to are tourist traps, that are about as authentic as a Cajun restaurant in Topeka. Short Stop is a genuine New Orleans style restaurant. It has most of the New Orleans classics, at great prices. It is the real deal, and I've... More

I have been coming here since I was a child! Great food run by a fantastic family. My favorites are the shrimp poboy and the roast beef, but their catfish plate is wonderful!

While our daughter and her family were in town earlier this week from Kansas, we got some poboys from Short Stop Poboys on Transcontinental (a block from Airline Hwy.). I got my usual Oyster Poboy and Maria, my wife, got her Shrimp Poboy (which both were great), but our Son-in-Law and Daughter split a Roast Beef Poboy. How surprised we... More
