Great location for business dinner

At the suggestion of a local friend, a colleague and I took a client to dinner at Restaurant Cypress. While it was busy, we were seated immediately upon our arrival - and, as requested in our reservation - we were seated at a "quieter" table so we could discreetly discuss business. The host was... read more

Some of the items that they prepare are from "Old Line" cuisine from the early days of New Orleans restaurants. Many of the Chefs in the City (French Quarter included) have moved to a newer politically correct menu type menu. If you want that, don't go there. If you want some really good exceptional local style food, this is the... More

Hubby and I had a date night and were seated in the bar area where they only had tables for 2. This made it so nice that we were not trying to talk over large tables. When you book a reservation for 2 ask for the bar area. We had the fried soft shell crab and crabcake entrees and this... More

This was our 4th or 5th visit to Cypress (always with mixed results but good enough to try again) and it has gone way downhill. First, the service - we were seated and in a half-full room and our drink and then food order was taken. Drinks came out 20 minutes later and the appetizers took a full hour and... More

This restaurant well worth the trip. The menu includes a wide variety of seafood and meats including rabbit. I recommend the salmon. Plenty of parking on site or nearby. An elegant table setting and very attentive service. A corkage fee applies if you bring your own wine, but it is no more than any other restaurant of this quality. Treat... More

This is a typical N.O. style family restaurant. Not pretentious and very comfortable for the local crowd. It was a bit of a wait for a table but it was a Saturday night and we had a 6 top so that is to be expected. I found it noisy and not the most updated atmosphere (it could use a face... More

Almost on the corner of Transcontinental and West Esplanade in Metairie (a suburb between downtown New Orleans and the airport),Cypress has good food. Appetizers, including barbecue shrimp and duck eggroll. Like most New Orleans restaurants, was noisy.

This restaurant is in an unassuming location in Metairie, outside New Orleans. The restaurant is clean and well put together, if slightly dated. The staff and service were very good. The continental and Cajun/Creole fusion food was excellent. My family and I were pleased with the food and we recommend you visit this restaurant.

Dined with friends who hadn't been here in yrs, it was our first experience. We started with appetizers of fried lobster tail, and beets with a crabmeat romelade sauce. Then for entrees we had soft shell crab topped with a crab cake topped with sauce, a pan sheet thin veal with crabmeat sauce and lobster raviolis- both were rich and... More
