Good food but not great food.

I had heard rave reviews of this place and a couple things, namely the bbq shrimp were fabulous! But the crab stuffing was tired an over used, I think our group had three different things that we crabbed stuffed and it just was over used and it wasn't that great. It was mushy and not very... read more

We ate at Deanie's in the French Quarter. That could have been our mistake. The original in Bucktown was the best. It had/has local flavor a sense of originality. Deanie's FQ was just a tourist turn style restaurant. You felt hustled and as if the servers were being bothered by you expecting them to serve you. Food was at best... More

Locals know it and love it. You're not a true New Orleanian unless you eat here. A visitors must go. Almost any native can direct you to Bucktown where this Deanie's is located, near Lake Pontchartrain. Just a 15 minute ride from the French Quarter. Best seafood in almost any form in the city.

On the way to New Orleans we searched the internet for the best seafood in the area. Deanie's was mentioned on several list so we thought we would give it a try. Parking: The lot was full, but there was ample parking across the street. Wait: we were told it would be 45 minutes to 1 hour. We were seated... More

Recommended by locals and it was everything people said it was. Food portions were huge and delicious. First time in NOLA and already had tried crawl fish elsewhere but, there's was the best we had while their.

Then this is the place you want to be. We went to this Metairie location on Good Friday and the place was packed. The Hostess quoted me a 45 wait time to be seated for my party of 13. The quote was pretty accurate to the time we were seated. The menu consisted of dishes focused mainly on seafood of... More

We headed to Deanie's on the recommendation of our bartender at our hotel. Too much food! I would recommend splitting a meal and making room for the chargrilled oysters.

Deanie's has some of the best seafood in all of New Orleans. Prices were reasonable and everyone in the party had a good meal.

We recently visited this location and I must say that I was totally underwhelmed. The wait was over an hour. We ordered a seafood platter, BBQ shrimp, and Crawfish. The only thing that I thought was remotley good was the safoood balls on the platter. Everything else did not have enough seasoning. The BBQ shrimp was an oily mess. I... More

Thank you for visiting our original location in Bucktown and sharing your review. Although they require an abundance of napkins, our Barbeque Shrimp are a customer favorite, and we are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy them. We apologize that you feel your waitress did not handle your beverage situation in the best way possible and will address... More

Since I live in Little Rock, good fried seafood pretty much means fried catfish. I know, that's not seafood. So when I get to NOLA it's nice to indulge and that is exactly what you do here. Sometimes I go for the BBQ shrimp and they are excellent but today it was all fried. Make sure to sub a softshell... More
