I knew the original Ms. Deanie and she would be proud of the food coming out of the building that she built. Their fried food is very good and the boiled seafood is DELICIOUS!
i just finished eating boiled crawfish and crawfish étouffée from deanies seafood market (right on the left side of deanies restaurant) on lake avenue and i must say it was not the worst crawfish i have ever had but pretty close. there is no excuse for a seafood restaurant in new orleans to not know how to season boiled crawfish.... Food was wonderful and so much!!! We had the catfish platter and po-boy. My husband couldn't stop raving about how fresh the bread was and how the toasted sesame seeds just added to the flavor. Very happy customers and that is why we always visit when we are in NO.
I only get to visit so NO ever so often, but I try to make it to Deanies. The Seafood Platter is the best value. I highly recommend this place. :)

Deanie's has fresh seafood and tasty local fare. We enjoyed the friendly service and unique dishes. It was also nice to travel outside the Quarter. My favorite dish was the BBQ Shrimp Pasta.
